And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
Mark 3:14

READ: Matthew 15:15-20

15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Availability is a key element in discipleship. A coach must always be there to answer questions and give advice. As a coach, you should always answer or return your coachee’s calls. Find time to be with them, even if it means taking them along with you on trips or to events. Just make sure you are always there for them.

There are certain things to consider before agreeing to coach and mentor someone. First, only coach and mentor people whose company you can enjoy. As we saw in our memory verse today, the first reason Jesus chose disciples was for them to keep Him company, and of course, also to work with Him.

It also shows that Jesus had seen great potential in the disciples and knew that as they worked with Him, they would become better. Don’t coach and mentor someone in whom you have not seen any potential. This is because it is that potential that will drive you to make sacrifices for the fellow. Don’t just coach and mentor someone because he/she is a relative; choose who you coach and mentor carefully.

You should also know that your followers are not slaves. Others may exploit their followers but as a Christian, you must follow Jesus’ example. He washed the feet of His disciples and even told them clearly in John 15:15:
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”

Aside from that being the right thing to do, it will also model humility to them. However, Christian disciples must not take their disciplers’ humility for granted. Give honor to whom honor is due (Romans 13:7).

Christ’s discipleship model should be the standard for all Christians.

Adopt Jesus Christ’s model of discipleship in grooming those the Lord has put in your care.

John 13

1. Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.
o Refrain:
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!

2. Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God, to Thee.

3. There let the way appear, steps unto Heav’n;
All that Thou sendest me, in mercy giv’n;
Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee.

4. Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;
So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee.

5. Or, if on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I’ll fly,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.

*Text: “If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself; but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.” Prov 9:12*

I have seen cases where people were counselled in an area of life and they did the exact opposite of what they were counselled about. I have also seen cases of people who outrightly ran away from counselling because they never wanted anyone to confront them with the wrong things they were doing.

If we refuse to obey God will it have any adverse effect on God, will it reduce God in any way? The answers are obvious. God is the most high before we were born and he will remain as the highest long after we are all gone. There is nothing that we do or refuse to do that change God’s status. Whatever we do is ultimately for our own good. Serving and obeying God is ultimately for your own good.

From our anchor scripture if you are wise you do so for yourself. If you do otherwise it’s to your own detriment. Whatever we do with our lives will eventually come back with a consequence for us.
Let me remind you that life is a choice, we all have the liberty to make our choices, but we are slaves to its consequences. Every of your inputs in life will come back with a definite output. If you do what is wrong with your life you’ll be the one to suffer its consequences. If you also do what is right with your life you’ll also enjoy the benefits by yourself.
Life is principally a product of personal adventure. We all have the awesome privilege to pursue the type of life we want for ourselves. We don’t really have anyone to blame for the state of our lives. It’s true someone must have contributed to our present state of life, but with God’s help we can choose not to allow that to determine the ultimate outcome of our lives.

*CONFESSION:* I’m wise. I choose the paths in life that will bring the highest and best results in my life.

🗣️Whatever you want in life, you can always start somewhere. That is why the engagement of the hand in doing whatever you find is the doorway to finding what you want.

*SCRIPTURE* 📖: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest”. Ecclesiastes 9:10

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* 🤔: Great things always have little beginnings.

In life, every great thing usually has a little beginning. Whatever you want in life, you can always start somewhere. That is why the engagement of the hand in doing whatever you find is the doorway to finding what you want.

Today, a young man may refuse to do what his hand finds because he is waiting for a call from a job interview he did. No! Don’t just wait like that. Determine to do something with your hands until the call comes, and even if the call does not come, face your life. Do not only look for someone who can employ you. Rather, you can establish a business that can employ other people.

As a young medical doctor in those days, I consulted in three different places in one day. I consulted in one place in the morning, in another place in the afternoon, and in another place at night. After the night consultation, I would still drive my car as taxi (kabu-kabu), in the town of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. As I carried people from one place to another, I prayed in the spirit while on the steering.

I would be reading the Bible in between the various consultations and leading people to Christ at the consultation desk, casting out devils while talking to people, and firing in tongues one to three hours in the morning before going out.

Beloved, always know that great things always have little beginnings. Do anything your hand finds to do no matter how little it is. You shall succeed in life in Jesus’ Name

Remember this: Great things always have little beginnings.

*1. Engage your life and time profitably in doing whatever your hands find.*

*2. Do your assignment with all that you have got; give it all it takes* .

*PRAYER* 🙏🏼: O Lord, I refuse to sit idle and lament the challenges of life. I receive Your Help to engage my life profitably until my desired change comes, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

*QUOTE* : Let work know that you work. Whether it is the work of God, the work of your hands, or whatever work you are doing, please give it your best. Culled from “21 UNCOMMON KEYS TO FINANCIAL OVERFLOW” by Dr Paul Enenche.

*AMAZING FACT* 😳: A new born Chinese water deer is so small it can almost be held in the palm of the hand.

*God’s Gracious Attitude*

_Hosea 2:14-16 (NIV), 2Peter 3:9 (NKJV)_
_“Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achora door of hope. There she will respond as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. “In that day,” declares the LORD, “you will call me ‘my husband’; you will no longer call me ‘my master.‘ *The Lord is not slack but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance._

So many people do not understand God’s gracious attitude. So many people have not really tasted of the graciousness of the Lord, 1 Pet. 2:3. In Psalms 145:8, the Bible says, “The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” Many do not yet have a personal revelation of the grace and the mercy of God. They do not understand the various dimensions of the great love and the kindness of God. The more we are conscious of God’s grace, the more we attract the manifestations of that grace into our lives. It also causes us to manifest God’s gracious and loving nature to others.

God alwoys wants to help, heal, deliver, restore and lift us higher. He always wants to show us His abundant grace and love. God wants us to consistently come boldly to His throne of grace, Heb. 4:16. He does not want us to run away from Him or His grace. On the contrary, God wants us to run towards Him and His grace because He loves us so much and His grace is what sustains and beautifies our lives.

Our first text above reflects how God responded to His people after they rebelled and turned away from Him. God said He would allure them into the wilderness and there, speak kindly to them before restoring them. To allure is to fascinate and attract. It is God’s love and kindness that fascinate and attracts us to Himself so that He can change and transform our lives. Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) says, “The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, l have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.”

Prayer: l thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your great love and kind attitude towards me. Right now, I receieve the manifestations of Your grace in my life.

Monday, 9th November, 2020

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God”. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV)

Child of God, to be a world changer, you must be different from every other person. Don’t play games or look for short cuts. Don’t be a believer only on Sunday and a heathen on Monday. As God’s ambassador, dress like an ambassador. Think and act like one at all times. Don’t allow the spirit of this age to influence you. Live by the principles and standards of the bible. I encourage you to read the word, eat it and meditate on it until it becomes a revelation. As you walk in the truth that you have received, you shall be a world changer indeed.

Your friends or associates may suggest that you join them in their questionable and carefree lifestyle, but you have a responsibility to say no because you are a Kingdom person. They may call you names but choose to be different. I can assure that if you take these things to heart, you will certainly emerge as a worthy example wherever God has located you.

I challenge you to keep serving the Lord with all your heart, with all your might and with all your strength. These are not the days to play with your salvation or slowdown in your commitments. Like never before, make a commitment to hang on to God because every other ground is sinking sand. Take a quality decision to attend services whether it is on a weekday or Sunday. The more of the Word you have stored up in you the more you are able to walk in victory. The intention of the enemy is that he will garage you, isolate you and if possible, cut you off. But that devil is a liar. Every plan and insidious acts of the adversary against your life will scatter. You will never go under because you are the seed of the righteous. This is your moment of acceleration! You are royalty; you are the child of the King, so carry yourself in the consciousness of who you are. You are His authorised agent here on earth; you are God’s Ambassador!
