Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

READ: Matthew 8:5-9

5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Submission goes hand in hand with victory. James 4:7 says that you should submit yourself first to God, then you can resist the devil and he will flee. In other words, if you have not submitted yourself to God, you cannot have victory over the devil. Many of us don’t want to submit to God, yet we want to cast out demons. Malachi 3:10 says we should bring all the tithes into His storehouse; we do not want to obey that, but we want God to open the windows of Heaven and just bring the breakthroughs. This will not happen because if you have not submitted to god’s conditions, you cannot get anything from Him.

The people in the military understand the concept very well. They know that as long as they remain submissive to their superiors, they will continue to enjoy authority over their subordinates. That is what the centurion was talking about it Matthew 8:9 when He told Jesus:
“For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.”

Is there any area of your life in which you have been praying and trusting God for a miracle? You may need to check your level of submission to God. Once you are completely submissive to Him, victory is sure. Saul experienced defeats and died a shameful death because he felt too big to submit to God. David on the other hand was a great king, winning many victories because he was submissive to God. He said in Psalm 40:8:
“ I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”

Wives remember that the way to get what you want from your husband is through submission, not arguments and fights. I am yet to meet a man who can resist a submissive wife. When he says something that you do not agree with, don’t go straight into argument mode, go first into submission mode. You can then suggest an alternative. This way, he will hear you out. Now, if he does not go with your idea, you must agree with him and do as he has said, but at least you know that he considered your idea. And now, having established in his mind your submissiveness, it is easier to get anything from him than when he considers you stubborn.

The lower you stoop, the higher you will rise.

3 John 1

1. Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
*Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

*Being filled with the knowledge of His will*
*Text:* Col 1:9-12
_”For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”_

Like a good Father that God is, He desires for us to be filled with the knowledge of His will. It is not just enough to be filled with this knowledge, but to do so in all wisdom and spiritual understanding(practical application). The knowledge of God’s will should produce resources for daily living. In Ps 103:7, the Scriptures say, _”He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”_ God wants to make His will and His ways known to us like He did with Moses. Oh that we may desire to be filled with the knowledge of His will!

By being filled with the knowledge of His will:

*# You will be strengthened with His power and might #*
It has been said that “knowledge is power.” The more knowledge you have in a certain area, the more powerful you will become in that area. The same applies here; the more of the knowledge of God’s will that you have, the more of His power that will be made available to you. Being filled with the knowledge of God’s will makes you to receive strength from above. Daniel 11:32 sums it up like this, _”…but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”_

Apostle Paul said, _”that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection….”_(Phil 3:10). In other words, the revelation of His will releases the power of Christ’s resurrection. To experience the power of resurrection in our daily lives requires being filled with the knowledge of His will. In Eph 1:19-21, the Bible says, _”and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”_

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

Matthew 2:11 (KJV)
*And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.*

The wise men that came to see Jesus did two spectacular things that we need to emulate in our daily living:
1. They worshipped. 2. They opened their treasures.

Beloved, our walking with the Lord should not stop at the altar of worship alone but we must be willing to open our treasures for God’s kingdom and the needy in our society. Among other things, the true sense of Christmas is to remind us of our responsibility to God and our duty to humanity.

Proverbs 19:17 (KJV)
*He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.*

We must allow the love of God to continue to flow through us to our world.

Hebrews 13:1-2 (KJV)
[1] *Let brotherly love continue.*
[2] *Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.*

The major proof of our discipleship is our deep love for one another and for God’s kingdom.

John 13:35 (KJV)
*By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.*

Let the season remind us that all our wealth and riches are entrusted unto us to advance God’s purpose on the earth.

Luke 16:10-11 (KJV)
[10] *He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.*
[11] *If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?*

Beloved, let us not stop giving, put smile on someone’s face today by opening your treasures and let liberality, generosity and a compassionate heart continue.

Merry Christmas!

[12/26, 6:54 AM] faithemm2015: WISDOM FOR THE DAY
Saturday, 26th December, 2020

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yes, I will help thee, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

Child of God, I have come to encourage you to arise from the place of fear and intimidation because the devil and his cohorts cannot silence you. They may try, but they will surely fail. God has not given you the spirit of fear but of boldness and love. So, stop running from the enemy. I see the hand of God rearranging everything that the enemy has put out of order in your life. I don’t know what you may be going through right now, but I know that God has gone ahead to step into that situation and He will give you the victory.
Yesterday, we celebrated Christmas. Think of it: if God could give Jesus just because of you, what can He not do for you.

When you study the book of Exodus, you will see first-hand how God delivered His people from the hands of a Pharaoh who thought he could forever afflict and torment God’s people while they were in Egypt. By the time God brought different plagues and judgments upon the land, Pharaoh was so overwhelmed that he virtually begged the children of Israel to go. In like manner, whatever is harassing your life shall also be destroyed. For too long the enemy may have tortured and traumatized you but God says enough is enough. You are coming out in Jesus name. Evil will bow before you and the wicked shall bow at your gates. God will arise on your behalf and all your enemies shall be scattered.
In this season of celebration, my God will give you a gift no man can explain. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. They shall gather against you but not by my God, and as many that are gathered against you shall fall for your sake. They will come against you one way and flee before you seven ways. This season, your testimony shall be noised abroad in Jesus’ name. Compliments of the season.

*Empowered to Live the Higher Life of Christ*

_2 Peter 1:3 (GNB & AMP), Ephesians 1:18a (NIV)_
_God’s divine power has given us everything we need to live a truly religious life through our knowledge of the one who called us to share in his own glory and goodness. *For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).*I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you,…_

Some believers lack the knowledge of the kind of life that God has given us and the kind of life that God has called us to live. Others do not believe that God has given them the ability to live the kind of life that we have been called to. God did not call you to live an ordinary life. Rather, He called you to live the glorious life of Christ. The Bible says, “[It was] to this end that He called you through our Gospel, so that you may obtain and share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)” 2 Thes. 2:14 (AMP). Our first text above confirms that God has called us to share in His own glory and goodness. God has bestowed the glory of Christ upon you. Romans 8:29-30 (GNB) adds, “Those whom God had already chosen he also set apart to become like his Son, so that the Son would be the first among many believers. And so those whom God set apart, he called; and those he called, he put right with himself, and he shared his glory with them.” The glory of God is upon your life.

While Jesus was praying in John 17:22 (NLT), He said, “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.” This is why Jesus said He has sent us into the world just as the Father sent Him, John 20:21. God has given you everything you need to live the glorious and excellent life of Christ. Our text above assures us that we access this empowerment through our knowledge of Christ. The more you know Christ, the more you will be conscious of this empowerment that you have and the more you will manifest a higher life of Christ. This is the high calling of every believer. As you focus on Christ, you will know the kind of life God wants you to live and you will know the empowerment God has given you to do so.

Prayer Focus: Thank God for the ability He has given you to live the glorious life of Christ. Ask Him to open your eyes.
