“Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.”
–  Lamentation 1:8

Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 11:2-4
2. And it came to pass in an eveningtide , that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house; and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

3. And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam , the wife of Uriah the Hittite?

4. And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness; and she returned unto her house.

Nakedness refers to the absence of clothing, and it also refers to the wearing of only underwear.

It simply means being inadequately or inappropriately dressed. To be naked is to be bare, lightly dressed or to wear skimpy, revealing or insufficient clothing.

These days, people are obsessed with showing off their wealth through fashion. As heroes and mentors to many, the rich and famous tends to influence a lot of people to follow their footsteps.

Unfortunately, this platform is being used to promote nudity in fashion. If you look at the world today, a greater percentage of fashion styles reflect nakedness, particularly in western countries.

If the lady’s cleavage is not exposed, the dress is viewed as old-fashioned. If the skirt is not short, such that the lady can’t sit down comfortably without having to cross their legs or continually draw down her skirt to cover her laps, it is not fashionable.

It is however sad that instead of the world to look into the Church for healthy and sensible fashion inspiration, the Church is copying the world, which is why indecent and provocative dress is commonplace in the Church of God today.

You will go to some churches and wonder whether you are in a brothel. Christ has called us to walk in love, so if you know that you dress seductively and this could cause someone to stumble in lust, you better have a rethink.

What is your motive if you said you want to dress to kill? If you want to make heaven, you must judge your motives and actions by the word of God and make necessary adjustment.

The essence of clothing, first and foremost is to cover human nakedness. God is the first one who designed and provided clothes, and His primary purpose is to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve after they attempted to sew fig leave together as aprons to cover their nakedness (Genesis 3:21, Genesis 3:7).

So many people today are wearing fig leave and calling them clothes. For any clothing to be appropriate for a child of God, whether male or female, it must meet the standard that God set in the beginning by adequately covering human nakedness.

Moreover, we are Christ ambassadors; an ambassador does not do anything that will tarnish the image of the country he or she represents.

As a matter of fact, the ambassador positively projects the cultural heritage of his or her country always.

The culture of the kingdom we belong to is holiness, righteousness and the fear of God, and we must project it in this world of sin and godlessness.

Furthermore, we have the responsibility of making our body suitable for the Holy Spirit to dwell in (1 Corinthians 3:16).

As the temple of God, defiling your body through nudity has consequences (1 Corinthians 3:17). Henceforth, dress like a worthy ambassador of God’s kingdom.

Father please expel nudity and destroy immoralit…

SCRIPTURE: But what saith it? The word is nigh thee,”even in thy mouth, and in thy heart”: that is,”the word of faith, which we preach; Romans 10″:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Light from the Word of God is the raw material for the operation of faith.

In our previous studies,”we saw different dimensions of the profitability of faith.

Now, it is very essential to look at the key to exercising faith, that is, the key that opens the door to the world of faith.

Now, what is the key of faith? It is light from Scripture, that is, light from the Word of God. In the Book of Romans chapter Ten and in Verse Seventeen, the Scripture says, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. This means, the Word of God enhances faith; where God’s Word abounds, faith is exercised. Other Scriptures that corroborates this truth are”:

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia,”but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak anything.1 Thessalonians 1″:8

So,”there is an intricate relationship between faith and the Word of God.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11″:3.

Beloved,”the Word of God is the raw material for faith. Light from the Word of God is the raw material for the operation of faith. Lighted people are faith-filled people; worded people are faith-filled people. You cannot walk in faith if you neglect the Word of God.

My counsel is, study the Word of God consciously and consistently in order to live the lifestyle of faith.

Remember this”:  Light from the Word of God is the raw material for the operation of faith.

1. Trust God for a fresh baptism of hunger for the Word.

2. Trust God to see light as you study.

PRAYER: O Lord,”I ask for the grace to study Your Word continually in order to access the light that would build my faith in You, in Jesus’ Name.

Continually Acknowledge God and His Goodness

Psalm 16:2 (NLT), James 1:17-18 (LB), 1Corinthians 15:10
I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Every good thing I have comes from you.” *But whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God, the Creator of all light, and he shines forever without change or shadow. And it was a happy day for him when he gave us our new lives through the truth of his Word, and we became, as it were, the first children in his new family. *But by the grace of God I am what I am…

We belong to a very good and loving Heavenly Father who is responsible for every good thing we are and we have in our lives.

So many people in the world today actually consider themselves wise by refusing to acknowledge God’s existence and His goodness and refusing to submit themselves to Him. And refusal to acknowledge God is one of the Bible’s definition of foolishness, Psa.14:1. We do not own ourselves, we did not create ourselves and we did not save ourselves. Our lives belong to Him. He is our Creator, our Saviour and our Lord and Master. It is not by our smartness, nor our beauty, nor our connections, nor any of our efforts or abilities that we are alive and what we are today. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is His faithfulness, Lam.3:22-23. It is because the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever, Psa. 107:1. Imagine how much God loves us and all that God sent Jesus to do all because of us, Heb. 2:6 & 9.

As you acknowledge God and His goodness and grace in your life, it will produce a deep and genuine desire in your heart to continually reverence and worship Him. It will also cause you to continually humble yourself before Him so that He may keep lifting you up, 1 Pet. 5:6. Doing so also causes you to make use of the gifts He has given you in a way that honours and glorifies Him (Your Lord and Master).

Heavenly Father, YOU are my Lord and Master. Every good thing I have comes from You and my life belongs to You.
[5:32 AM, 6/7/2019] 919063: The ultimate purpose of prayer

Friday 7th June 2019

‘To be conformed to the likeness of his Son.’ Romans 8:29 NIV

‘Those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son’ (Romans 8:29 NIV). When you read the preceding verses in the chapter you discover God does this through prayer. This should encourage you to pray.

Many times we don’t pray because we don’t think anything’s happening. But with God, something’s always happening! We wonder, ‘When is he going to work?’ What we fail to understand is – he’s always working. When it comes to prayer he’s either answering the way you hoped, or changing your heart through the Spirit’s intercession to bring your prayer into harmony with his will. You say, ‘But I don’t see anything happening.’ When you plant a seed, you don’t come back the next day expecting green shoots and leaves. Does that mean nothing’s happening? No, a host of necessary processes are taking place below the ground where you can’t see them. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that because you don’t see the evidence there’s nothing’s happening. It’s just not harvest time yet.

One way in which God is making us more like Jesus is by helping us to pray the way Jesus prayed, ‘Not my will, but yours be done’ (Luke 22:42 NIV). That means when your prayer lines up with his will, he’s already working on it even though you can’t see it. And if your prayer isn’t in accordance with his will, he’s working to change your request by changing you. Unanswered prayer can be as big a blessing as answered prayer, when it keeps us from violating God’s will. And what is God’s will? To make you more like Jesus!
