Morning Devotion

[6/14, 5:18 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: MESSAGE FROM:

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

2 Samuel 5:17 (NLT) *When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king of Israel, they mobilized all their forces to capture him. But David was told they were coming and went into the stronghold.*

Life is not predominantly a physical issue, but Spiritual. Living all your life or conducting all your activities in the realm of the natural is one of the most dangerous adventure anyone can venture into.

When David was a nobody, no one cared about him but as soon as the lifting of God came upon him, the Phillistines, armed with weapons and diabolic forces, were out to destroy him.

As long as you are a high flyer in life and you are determined to get to the peak of your God-given career, business, ministry etc. You must equally be ready to confront all oppositions any time they show up. As long as there is oil on your head, the enemy will look for you, therefore, begin to build up your spiritual strength from this moment.

1. *Fasting and Prayer*. (Spiritual Stronghold)

Isaiah 58:6 (KJV)
*Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?*

Beloved, let us take a second look at the dimensions of empowerment scriptural fasting will convey on you.

i. To loose the bands of wickedness.

ii. To undo the heavy burdens.

iii. To let the oppressors go free.

iv. To break every yoke.

When you are operating at these dimensions, no devil or his agent can dare you and succeed. No witches or wizard can toy with your destiny.

Beyond yourself you will equally be a blessing to others who are under any form of affliction by setting them free. Spiritual empowerment will also cause you to be enthroned for unstoppable reigning in life.

Psalms 66:3 (KJV) *Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.*

The only thing the enemy respect in you is power and not your social status, therefore, as you are building your career, business and other things, please, pay premium attention to your spiritual growth and empowerment.

Beloved, just as we heard yesterday, fasting must be programmed to be an integral part of our lives. Beyond your prayer points, great things happen to your spirit as you embark on fasting that makes you untouchable.

Prophet Ezra proclaimed a fast before the Israelites embarked on their journey to Jerusalem from captivity. Despite the fact that King Artaxerxes enacted a decree that set them free, they still engaged in spiritual exercise of fasting for their safety. Beloved, you and I need the same anytime, anyday.

Ezra 8:21, 23, 31 (KJV)
[21] *Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.*
[23] *So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.*
[31] *Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.*

1. Thank you Lord for another beautiful day you have made.

2. Thank you my Father for daily supply of all our needs.

3. Thank you my heavenly Father for your abiding presence in my family.

4. Thank you my Lord for opening my eyes to see the pathway to spiritual empowerment.

5. Acts 26:22 (KJV)
*Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day…*

O Lord my Father, grant me grace and strength to wait on you in fasting and prayer continually in Jesus mighty name!

6. 1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV)
*But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.*

O Lord my Father, help me to control my appetite in Jesus mighty name!

7. Micah 3:8 (KJV)
*But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord , and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.*

O Lord my God, fortify me with power to crush all oppositions to my progress in the mighty name of Jesus!

8. Job 38:22-23 (KJV)
[22] *Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,*
[23] *Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?*

O Lord my God, empower me against the day of battle and war in the mighty name of Jesus!

9. Matthew 21:44 (KJV)
*And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.*

i. I decree whosoever dares my life and family shall break into pieces in Jesus mighty name!

ii. I decree anyone I fall on is grinded into powder in the mighty name of Jesus!

10. Romans 9:33 (KJV)
*As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.*

I decree, “my-rock-of-offence” destiny in Christ Jesus begin to manifest in the mighty name of Jesus!

11. 2 Thessalonians 1:6 (KJV)
*Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;*

I decree, whatever situation or person that is troubling my destiny come under judgement in Jesus mighty name!

12. Psalm 140:7 (KJV)
*O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.*

O Lord my God, cover my head in the day of battle in Jesus mighty name!

13. Psalm 29:11 (KJV)
*The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.*

O Lord my Father, fill my life and family with your peace and joy in Jesus mighty name!

14. Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)
*For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.*

O Lord my God, remember all my labour of love in your kingdom and to your saints in the mighty name of Jesus!

15. Nehemiah 13:31 (KJV)
*And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.*

O Lord my Father, for all my offering and sacrifices shake the heaven and the earth for my good in Jesus mighty name!

Thank you Father for working exceedingly and abundantly above all that I ask or think.

Thank you Father for the uncommon results and answers.

Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!

See you tomorrow,
Philippians 4:4 (KJV)
*Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.*

[6/14, 5:20 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Today’s SOD – 2020-06-14

SCRIPTURE: Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God.

Paul,”in the Book of First Thessalonians Chapter Five and Verse Seventeen, admonished us to pray without ceasing. Now, one of the things we do without ceasing is breathing. If we are to pray without ceasing just as we breathe, it means that prayer is meant to be a ceaseless or continuous practice of the child of God. Prayer is the life of a Christian.

Previously, we noted that prayer is multifaceted. And today, we shall look at one of the multifaceted dimensions of prayer.

Now, one of the multifaceted dimensions of prayer is that prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance in God (Matthew 6″:11). Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God. This is what Jesus meant as He taught us how to pray when He said,”“Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6″:11).

The question therefore is,”when we say that prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance, what do we mean?

1. Prayer is a platform for accessing Divine promises (Matthew 6″:11).

Prayer is a platform for the delivery of Divine packages. We take delivery of what has been packaged for us at the place of prayer.

2. Prayer is the platform for accessing supernatural supply.

“Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11) means accessing supernatural supplies. Prayer is the place where we make demands on God for supernatural supplies. That is,”supplies beyond natural.

3. Prayer is a platform for placing demands on our God-ordained benefits (Matthew 6″:11).

At the place of prayer,”we make demands on the benefits God has ordained for our lives.

4. Prayer is the platform for the attack of needs and wants in our lives (Matthew 6″:11).

Prayer is an altar for the attack of needs and wants in life. When we say needs and wants,”we are not just referring to money alone, but every other essential necessity of life.

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to access Divine promises and supernatural supplies. Make demands on your God-ordained benefits, and attack the needs and wants in your life at the place of prayer.

God gives you when you ask Him. “…ye have not, because ye ask not.”(James 4″:2).

Remember this: Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God.

1. Make up your mind to access Divine promises and supernatural supplies at the place of prayer.

2. Make demands on God-ordained benefits for your life and attack the needs and wants of life at the place of prayer.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for the opportunity to access all You have in store for my life at the place of prayer. Today,”I make demands for the release of Your ordained benefits and blessings for my life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: The place of prayer is not just a place where requests are tendered but also a place where repentance is made. Culled from “PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: The oceans cover 71% of the Earth’s surface.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Every God-ordained benefit belonging to you is released for you in this season in Jesus’ Name.

[6/14, 5:39 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Look after your body

Sunday 14th June 2020

‘Bodily exercise profits.’ 1 Timothy 4:8 NKJV

As you move into your forties, fifties and sixties, you’ll tend to become more sedentary. One woman made a lifelong commitment not to sweat. Another one joked that the only reason for jogging was to look better at her funeral. A driver put this bumper sticker on his car: ‘I’m pushing 50, and that’s enough exercise.’

The Bible says, ‘Bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come’ (1 Timothy 4:8 NKJV). Does that mean taking care of your body isn’t important? No, it means you must stay in balance! What’s the point of working to develop the virtues of a saint if you die before your time with blocked arteries? You say, ‘But I don’t like jogging or lifting weights.’ Then here’s some good news. A recent medical study found if you spend 45 minutes a day doing household chores such as mowing the lawn, you’ll enjoy greater longevity than those who are inactive. It’s even better if you do some push-ups and sit-ups, but it’s not necessary. If you fail to maintain your car, you have no right to blame the manufacturer. And if you fail to maintain your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, you have no right to blame God.

You say, ‘But I believe in divine healing.’ And God promises it to you in his Word (see James 5:14-15). But he expects you to use faith – and wisdom. So put down the TV remote control, get off the sofa and do a little home clean-up or repair. Not only will your house look better, but you’re likely to live longer.
