[6/15, 5:35 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Today’s SOD – 2020-06-14
TOPIC: ACCESSING YOUR INHERITANCE IN GOD THROUGH PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God.

Paul,”in the Book of First Thessalonians Chapter Five and Verse Seventeen, admonished us to pray without ceasing. Now, one of the things we do without ceasing is breathing. If we are to pray without ceasing just as we breathe, it means that prayer is meant to be a ceaseless or continuous practice of the child of God. Prayer is the life of a Christian.

Previously, we noted that prayer is multifaceted. And today, we shall look at one of the multifaceted dimensions of prayer.

Now, one of the multifaceted dimensions of prayer is that prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance in God (Matthew 6″:11). Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God. This is what Jesus meant as He taught us how to pray when He said,”“Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6″:11).

The question therefore is,”when we say that prayer is a platform for accessing our inheritance, what do we mean?

1. Prayer is a platform for accessing Divine promises (Matthew 6″:11).

Prayer is a platform for the delivery of Divine packages. We take delivery of what has been packaged for us at the place of prayer.

2. Prayer is the platform for accessing supernatural supply.

“Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11) means accessing supernatural supplies. Prayer is the place where we make demands on God for supernatural supplies. That is,”supplies beyond natural.

3. Prayer is a platform for placing demands on our God-ordained benefits (Matthew 6″:11).

At the place of prayer,”we make demands on the benefits God has ordained for our lives.

4. Prayer is the platform for the attack of needs and wants in our lives (Matthew 6″:11).

Prayer is an altar for the attack of needs and wants in life. When we say needs and wants,”we are not just referring to money alone, but every other essential necessity of life.

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to access Divine promises and supernatural supplies. Make demands on your God-ordained benefits, and attack the needs and wants in your life at the place of prayer.

God gives you when you ask Him. “…ye have not, because ye ask not.”(James 4″:2).

Remember this: Prayer gives us the platform for accessing our inheritance in God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to access Divine promises and supernatural supplies at the place of prayer.

2. Make demands on God-ordained benefits for your life and attack the needs and wants of life at the place of prayer.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for the opportunity to access all You have in store for my life at the place of prayer. Today,”I make demands for the release of Your ordained benefits and blessings for my life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

[6/15, 5:36 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: MONDAY 15TH JUNE 2020.

THEME: EVIDENCE OF A DIVINE ENCOUNTER.

MEMORISE:

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

READ: Acts 4:8-14

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

MESSAGE

God created every human being with the potential and ability to fulfil purpose.

According to John 1:12, a very important part of God’s plan for every human being is to attain full sonship. Now, sonship starts from being born again then growing in the Spirit. This is where being with Jesus comes in. It is absolutely impossible for anyone to take this journey and exhibit Christ-like behavior unless the person has been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 says:
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

Knowing that Peter and John were ordinary fishermen, the people marveled at their confidence, boldness and wisdom, realizing it could only be the result of a divine encounter. A divine encounter is the special visitation of the Holy Spirit. Without an encounter with the power of the Spirit, you would live far below your potential.

To fulfil your destiny, you must partner with the Holy Spirit by seeking a divine encounter with Him.

Peter realized his potential. Although initially full of fear, after Pentecost, he became so bold that even the council’s threats could not stop him. He had ordinarily lacked the fire, zeal, and direction because after Christ’s death, he stopped fishing for souls and returned to being an ordinary fisherman (John 21:1-3). However, after Pentecost, he was able to perform according to Heaven’s expectations. Like Peter, you need to encounter Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, and everything you require to fulfill destiny will be provided in the mighty name of Jesus.

Make a habit of spending time with Jesus daily, it will determine how far you will go.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, as I commit to spending more time with You, let Your presence be evidence in my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 9. 2 Chronicles 8

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 4: BLESSED ASSURANCE.

1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

o Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

[6/15, 6:00 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: MESSAGE FROM:

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,
Lagos.

FOCUS: *OTHER BENEFITS OF SCRIPTURAL FASTING*

Isaiah 58:6, 8 (KJV) Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

*Righteousness (The Spirit of Holiness)*

The spiritual empowerment secured during prayer and fasting will enable one to continually walk in practical righteousness. The scripture says, *”thy righteousness shall go before thee”* During fasting, power is released into our spirit that enables us to have dominion over all deadly habits such as anger, bitterness, falsehood, sexual immorality, alcohol etc. and all demonic forces.

Among our three components (spirit, soul and body) the unstable and unreliable among them is the flesh. In fact, the two major enemies in our lives are our flesh and the devil. If we don’t cage the excessiveness of the flesh, there is no way we can rule over the devil because that is his inroads.

Romans 8:13 (KJV)
*For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.*

During fasting, our spirit man is empowered above the flesh and when the spirit is the one dominating, it can easily refuse all ungodly offers of the flesh and the devil.

Any believer that wants to perpetually live in the realm of the flesh will make mockery of his destiny. The scripture below confirms the weakness of the flesh.

Romans 7:15-20 (KJV)
[15] *For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I*.
[16] *If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.*
[17] *Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.*
[18] *For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.*
[19] *For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.*
[20] *Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.*

Until your spirit man is constantly being empowered through regular fasting and prayer, you may not be able to resist the temptation of the wicked one and the cravings of the flesh. We can gain more insight and understanding through the strategy our Lord Jesus Christ used to overcome His temptation.

Matthew 4:1 (KJV)
*Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.*

The above scripture says He was led into the wilderness for a singular purpose “to be tempted” but He knew that His Spirit needed to be empowered above His flesh so He embarked on forty days fasting. I can humorously say that our Lord arrived there before the devil.

Matthew 4:2-3 (KJV)
[2] *And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.*
[3] *And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.*

He had dealt with the flesh before the tempter arrived at the scene. The same scriptural secret will work for you anyday any time. I pray from today your Christianity will no longer be rising and falling in Jesus mighty name!

Every offer the devil is offering you is to dethrone you and return you to the Adamic state. Receive grace to overcome him.

Nahum 2:1 (KJV)
*He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.*

Beloved, fortify your power mightily through regular scriptural fasting. I see you overcome every secret sin and weakness of the flesh in Jesus mighty name!

Romans 13:14 (KJV) *But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.*

*PRAYERS*

1. Thank you Father for the gift of a new day and a new week.

2. Thank you Father for daily empowering me via your words of grace.

3. Thank you Father for the gift of good people all around me in Jesus mighty name!

4. Isaiah 40:29 (KJV)
*He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.*

O Lord my Father, release supernatural strength upon me to overcome the deeds of the flesh in Jesus mighty name!

5. Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
*But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.*

O Lord my Father, as I begin to wait upon you in fasting and prayer, empower me over all the manipulations of the wicked in Jesus mighty name!

6. Psalm 19:13 (KJV)
*Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.*

i. O Lord my God, deliver me from besetting sin in Jesus mighty name!

ii. O Lord my Father, let no deadly habit and sin have dominion over me again in Jesus mighty name!

7. Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
*Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,*

O Lord my Father, grant me grace to lay aside everything that is not bringing glory to your name in Jesus mighty name!

8. Psalm 56:13 (KJV)
*For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?*

O Lord my Father, deliver my feet from falling that I may walk before thee forever in Jesus mighty name!

9. Exodus 33:14 (KJV)
*And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.*

O Lord my God, let your presence go with me into the new week and grant me rest in the mighty name of Jesus!

10. Zechariah 2:5 (KJV)
*For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.*

O Lord my Father, put your wall of fire round about me and my household that no evil can come near us in the mighty name of Jesus!

11. Proverbs 21:31 (KJV)
*The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.*

O Lord my God, grant me and my loved ones divine safety in all our journeys in Jesus mighty name!

12. Psalm 65:9 (KJV)
*Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.*

O Lord my God, release supernatural provision to meet all my needs this week and beyond in the mighty name of Jesus!

Thank you Father, for working exceedingly and abundantly above all that I ask or think.

Thank you Father for the uncommon results and answers.

Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!

See you tomorrow,
Philippians 4:4 (KJV)
*Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.*
