*Text: “And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:15*

Today we are dealing with the assurance and confidence that we should have in the place of prayer. There is really no point praying to a God that does not answer. Prayer is not something we should do just for religious purpose; but with a deep conviction that we are praying to a God that answers.

It’s very clear all over scripture that God answers prayers. God himself invited us to pray with the assurance that he will answer. So, much more that our willingness to pray God is more willing to answer. Once a man begins to doubt God’s willingness or ability to answer prayers their confidence will be very low. We are required to come BOLDLY to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in times of need. (Heb 4:16). The boldness in prayer comes from the assurance that God hears and answers.

“…We know that he hear us… we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” Don’t just pray religiously; pray with a heaven backed assurance.
Jabez was in a desperate life situation. He called upon God and he answered. Elijah called upon God and by his prayer there was no rain for years; he prayed again and there was rain. The scripture tells us that “…he prayed earnestly that it might not rain…” The word earnest here means wholeheartedly with all sense of assurance. He was too sure that God will answer. He prayed again for it to rain and God answered again. Even when it seems the answered did not come immediately he kept at it with the assurance that there will be an answer. It was not as if he was special in any way. He was subject to the same passions as we are. What made the difference in his prayer was the deep heart-rooted assurance that God answers.

Father thank you for the assurance to prayer that you have given us. Thank you for answers to prayer today.

*Think Productive Thoughts*

*Proverbs 21:5( AMP ), Psalms 92:5, Psalms 139:17-18, Proverbs 4:23 ( NLT )& GNB )*

The thoughts of the (steadily) diligent tend only to plenteousness, but everyone who is impatient and hasty hastens only to want. *O LORD, how great are thy works! And thy thoughts are very deep. *How precious also are thy thoughts unto me , O God! How great is the sum of them! If l should count them , they are more in number than the sand: when I awake , I am still with thee . *Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. *Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Our thoughts are as important as our prayers, Ephesians 3:20. God does not want us to pray in one way and think another way. After praying in faith , it is very important that we think the right way, Philippians 4:6-8. Many people are in so much of a hurry that they do not think before they act and some who think , do not think deep or well enough. Just as our second text above says about God, the greatness of your works are determined by the depth of your thoughts. When the Bible says, “… take not thought for tomorrow…..”in Matthew 6:34(KJV), it does not mean that God does not want us to think and plan for our future. It means that God does not want us to be worry or anxious. God thinks and plans and He wants us to think and plan in line with His thoughts and plans for us. God’s thought and ways are higher than that of the natural man, Isaiah 55:8-9. We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16); as such we have the ability to think just like God. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Do you know that the word for ‘peace’ here is ‘shalom’ and it means safety, happiness, welfare , health, wholeness and prosperity?

Our thoughts affect our words , our actions , our productivity and even our health . We must be careful of the people and materials that we associate with and allow to affect our thoughts. Delighting in God’s word and meditating on it day and night makes our lives like trees planted by the rivers of water . We will bring forth fruit in season, our leaves will not wither and whatsoever we do will prosper , Psalms 1:1-3. As you renew your mind with the word of God, the word of God will help you to think productive thoughts just as God does .

Dear Father, I thank You for the wisdom and grace You have given me to guide my thoughts to think deeply and to renew my mind with Your word.

[7/7, 6:51 AM] Emm: Perfect morning sir & morning.

Tuesday, July 7th .
Pastor Chris

_*Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me (John 14:30).*_

Demon spirits, if given a chance or a foothold, could harass, influence and even torment a Christian. Paul the Apostle enjoins us, _*“Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]”*_ (Ephesians 4:27 AMPC).

Take for example some Christians who experience what seems like a nightmare, but actually more real an experience than a dream. In some cases, it could be an experience with some beastly figures. The person may be praying about these things, yet the situation lingers.

Oftentimes, it’s because Satan tries to maintain a connection between him and such individuals by sowing something in their hearts, such as a thought—an unclean thought. As long as such folks harbour and nurture those thoughts from Satan, a connection is established. So, even when they scare him off with the Name of Jesus, as long as his thoughts remain in their hearts, he maintains his connection and keeps coming back.

Sometimes, it could be fear. He plants fear and with that connection he keeps coming back. When you pray and rebuke him, because of what he’s kept in you which you’re helping him preserve without realising it, he keeps coming back. This is why, like Jesus, you must have nothing of Satan in you. He (Jesus) said in our theme verse, _*“…for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”*_

Keep your heart free from anything that’s of the devil. Refuse to harbour fear, anger, grudge, bitterness and unforgiveness. Let love rule in your heart. Never allow fear to take a hold of you, irrespective of the happenings around you. Jesus said, _*“…I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven”*_ (Luke 10:18). Never be afraid of him, for he’s a defeated foe, and has no authority over you.

*I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and I have the light of life. There’s nothing of darkness in me. Through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by which I’m constantly cleansed and purified, Satan has no place in me. He has nothing in my life and I rule over him, in the Name of the Lord Jesus! Amen.*

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:23

READ: John 4:19-24

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Worship draws God’s attention. In fact, today’s memory verse says that God is actively searching for true worshipers.

When Bartimaeus wanted to get the Lord’s attention, he called Him “Jesus, the son of David.” In Yoruba land where I come from, when you really want to get something from a man, you start by recounting his antecedents and achievements. We have never needed God’s attention more than now, so this is the time to increase our worship of Him.

When you worship Him, He shows up in a great and unique way. In Acts 16:26, Paul and Silas worshipped Him and He showed up in an earthquake. In 2 Chronicles 20:22, Jehoshaphat and his people worshipped the Most High God and He made their enemies destroy one another. When you are faced with a battle, deploy the weapon of worship and watch the mighty power of God make you victorious.

At a wedding in a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the groom fell and died just as he was about to sign the marriage register. The pastor began to cry to God in prayers for the young man’s life to be restored, but instead of coming alive, he got colder. Someone then remembered what I had always taught about praises, so he told everyone to switch to praising God. They had only been doing so for a few minutes when God showed up; the groom came back to life and the wedding ceremony continued. God always shows up when we worship Him in Spirit and in truth. John 4:24 says:
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

God loves to be worshipped. He wants to be called the Holy One of Israel, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Rock of Ages, The Mighty Man of war, the Lord of lords, the Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, the King of kings, the Almighty God. Go ahead, take some time now to worship Him from the depth of your heart.

Commit to a lifestyle of worship- in spirit and in truth.

2 Chronicles 26

1 Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.

2 Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love

3 To all life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.

4 Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render, O help us to see:
’Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.

5 Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
