Friday September 18

*Advancing the kingdom of God.*

*Matthew 6:10, Acts 1:6-8 (NLT)*

*May your Kingdom come; my your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. So when the Apostles were with Jesus , they kept asking him , Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our Kingdom?” He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses , telling people about me everywhere—–in Jerusalem, throughout Judea , in Samaria , and to the ends of the Earth.”*

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to His disciples and the Bible says He gave them commandments by the Spirit, He manifested many signs and wonders , He spoke to them about the kingdom of God and He told them about waiting to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Acts 1:1-5. The disciples then asked a question about when He (Jesus) would restore the kingdom of Israel (set them free from the physical rule of the Roman government). Jesus said he could not tell them that but what He could tell them is that when they receive the baptism of the Spirit , they would receive power and they be His witnesses from their immediate locality to the ends of the earth.

Why did Jesus bring their focus back to being His witnesses? He did that because it is by being His witnesses that they would be used by God to advance the kingdom of God on the earth. Jesus came to establish God’s kingdom on the earth and now He is establishing it on earth through you and I—- His Body. As we preach the gospel of Christ in all nations and manifest the life and power of Christ, people will receive the life of God and they will become members and citizens of the kingdom of God. We are then to disciple these people from all nations into the fullness and experience of the life of God and their realities in the kingdom of God, Matthew 28:19 (NKJV). Jesus has given us His own power and authority to do all this and by the help of the Holy Spirit, we walk in this mighty power and authority. We must continue to pray for the advancement of God’s kingdom and we must continue to preach the gospel, manifest the life of Christ, perform signs and wonders, disciple people of all nations by the power of the Holy Spirit, until Jesus returns.

*Prayer Focus:*

Pray for the forceful increase and advancement of the kingdom of God by the power of the Spirit of God; through you and other believers.

Friday, September 18th .
Pastor Chris

_*Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).*_

As a Christian, it’s important that you know how to take the life that God has given you seriously, and how to respond spiritually when certain things happen around you. This is why prayer is important. When we pray, something happens. He never told us to pray in vain. Whenever you have that urge to pray, don’t ignore it.

Everyone who has the Holy Spirit would have the urge to pray from time to time, because He Himself is the Spirit of prayer. He teaches us to pray, and He prays through us. He stirs our hearts to pray and even puts words in our mouths with which to pray. As long as you’re living a Spirit-led life, you’ll always have the urge to pray. Otherwise, how do you resist the devil?

The devil is a spirit being; we don’t resist him with muscles or physical might. We don’t resist him with earthly things; we resist him with our faith. The Bible says resist the devil and he’ll flee (James 4:7); he has no option. He’s terrified of us because of the Name of Jesus.

When you come to understand the enormous power given you to paralyse Satan’s activities—whether in your life, the lives of your loved ones, your city or nation—you’d love to pray! Don’t sit idly by and watch the devil run rampage around you. Pray. Use the Name of Jesus against him.

As you fellowship with God in prayer, the Holy Spirit will show you things to pray about and how to pray. He’ll teach you how to handle matters in the realm of the spirit and prevail. Hallelujah!

*Thank you blessed Father, for the privilege of prayer and the blessing of praying in tongues. I’m responsive to the guidance and promptings of the Spirit in ensuring that through prayer, your will is established on earth as it is in Heaven, and your character and personality are manifested through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *1 Thessalonians 5:17* Pray without ceasing. *||*

*||* *1 Corinthians 14:2* For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. *||*

*||* *Romans 8:26-27* Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God. *||*

[9/18, 6:28 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: *LIFE AND FAVOUR*

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV)
[18] *Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.*
[19] *Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.*

Just as the name is, unpleasant and negative past should be let go, because it is the trap that the devil uses to hold many destinies down from making progress. You have to consciously deal with it and purge it out of your mind.

The negative experiences might have happened through past wrong decisions and mistakes, but remember that God is full of mercies and He promised never to remember our sins and errors as long as we have genuinely repented and forsaken them.

1 John 1:9 (KJV)
*If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.*

You can walk with your shoulders high, for the Lord has blotted out your past sins and errors. He does not keep records of such.

Also, to some people it is the loss of a loved one or valuable things. God promised to restore all that the enemy has taken away from you, therefore, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Joel 2:25 (KJV)
*And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm…*

Beloved, you must understand that if you are holding on to your unpleasant past, you cannot reach out to your glorious destiny fulfilment. You must begin to have a clear picture of the future you desire.

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
[13] *Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,*
[14] *I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.*

Remember, our kingdom is a kingdom of ‘as far as you can see.’ God is committed to take you to where you can see. Aim high, think big, take action towards your glorious future for He has promised to go before us.

Isaiah 45:2-3 (KJV)
[2] *I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:*
[3] *And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord , which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.*

> Thank you O Lord for the multitude of your goodness in my life and family.

> Thank you my Lord for the gift of another beautiful day.

> Thank you my Lord for the blessing of a beautiful family.

> Thank you my Lord for the gift of loving brethren and friends.

1. Isaiah 57:18 (KJV)
*I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.*

i. O Lord my Father, arise in your loving kindness and heal my heart in the mighty name of Jesus!

ii. O Lord my God, take away the heavy burden in my heart in the mighty name of Jesus!

2. Isaiah 51:3 (KJV)
*For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.*

O Lord my God, comfort me by restoring all that the enemy has stolen from me in the mighty name of Jesus!

3. Isaiah 9:4 (KJV)
*For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.*

O Lord my God, whatever channel the enemy is using to oppress me, let it be closed and destroyed in the mighty name of Jesus!

4. John 8:36 (KJV)
*If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.*

i. I declare my liberty and freedom in Christ!

ii. I declare I am no longer under any bondage in the mighty name of Jesus!

5. Exodus 23:20 (KJV)
*Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.*

I call forth my angels to resume their duties in my life and take me to my prepared glorious place in the mighty name of Jesus!

6. Haggai 2:6-7 (KJV)
[6] *For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;*
[7] *And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.*

i. O Lord my God, shake the nations of the earth in my favour in the mighty name of Jesus!

ii. O Lord, shake my establishment and cause my lifting to come speedily in the mighty name of Jesus!

7. Psalm 3:3 (KJV)
*But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.*

O Lord my Father, open your hand of favour unto me in the mighty name of Jesus!

9. Isaiah 10:27 (KJV)
*And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.*

i. O Lord my God, break the yoke of stagnation off my family in the mighty name of Jesus!

ii. O Lord my God, arise and destroy the yoke of delay and poverty off my lineage in the mighty name of Jesus!

10. Joshua 5:9 (KJV)
*And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.*

i. O Lord my Father, roll away every form of reproach in my life and family in the mighty name of Jesus!

ii. I declare today is blessed.
My destiny helpers are commanded to locate me in the mighty name of Jesus!

Thank you Father for working exceedingly and abundantly above all that I ask or think!

Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!

See you tomorrow.

[9/18, 6:41 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: *OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

Genesis 11:1-6

1. And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

4. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. Genesis 11:4

Rarely will anyone see a better way of doing things and not connect with it. If you want to do the extraordinary, your followers must first and foremost share the same vision with you. Before the people started working on the project in Genesis 11, the leaders had spelt out the vision to everyone. Dont expect people to join you when they dont know where you are going. Sell your vision so convincingly that they will adopt it as their own and be ready to pay any price to get there. Habakkuk 2:2 says:

“And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

As a leader, is your vision written for all your followers to see? Is it plain enough for them to understand? Is it available on all tables rather than just your table? If you answered yes to all, then you have laid the right foundation for your followers to key into your vision.

Habakkuk 2:2 says the vision should be plain upon tables, not just a table. Thus, every stakeholder must be aware of the vision.Long before our exponential growth started in the RCCG, we made it compulsory for the vision and mission statements to be displayed publicly in every parish. Everyone knew our number one vision is to make heaven and the second is to take as many as possible with us. So, we were always looking for ways to start new parishes of the Church. Today there are so many parishes around the world, not because I am an expert at planting them, but because the vision is no longer just mine, it is everyone’s.

Is your vision plainly written down for all your followers to see?

Ezra 4:1-24 , Ezra 5:1-17 , Ezra 6:1-22

Nearer, my God to Thee
1. Nearer, my God to Thee,

Nearer to Thee;

E’en though it be a cross

That raiseth me,

Still all my song shall be,

Nearer, my God, to Thee, (2ce)

Nearer to Thee!

2. Though, like the wanderer,

The sun gone down,

Darkness be over me,

My rest a stone,

Yet in my dreams I’d be

Nearer, my God, to Thee, (2ce)

Nearer to Thee!

3. There let the way appear

Steps unto heaven;

All that Thou send’st to me

In mercy given;

Angels to beckon me

Nearer, my God, to Thee, (2ce)

Nearer to Thee!

4. Then with my waking thoughts

Bright with Thy praise,

Out of my stony griefs

Bethel I’ll raise;

So by my woes to be

Nearer, my God, to Thee, (2ce)

Nearer to Thee!

5. Or if on joyful wing

Cleaving the sky,

Sun, moon, and stars forgot,

Upward I fly,

Still all my song shall be,

Nearer, my God, to Thee, (2ce)

Nearer to Thee!

[9/18, 7:09 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: 🍒🌽SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

Don’t waste your time or spend time aimlessly; invest time. Use time wisely; don’t let time use you.

SCRIPTURE: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing excellently and maximally. This is because you won’t pass through life twice.

In our previous studies, we have explored some powerful wisdom tips for daily living. And I believe that you are already experiencing tremendous positive change in your life as you read and practice these powerful and proven principles that I call “Wisdom for Daily Living”.

Today, we shall look at two more of these wisdom tips for daily living:

1. Give your very best to every task at hand.

Give all you have got to whatever you do because you will not pass through life twice. Give your very best to every task at hand (Ecclesiastes 9:10). This is wisdom.

Paul the apostle did not hold anything back; he did not withhold anything from people (Acts 20:20).

Beloved, there is no wisdom in the grave. And the truth is that one is moving closer to one’s grave every single day. It is not a prophecy but a reality. For example, even if you are destined to live for more than one hundred years, every passing day draws you closer to the end.

So, give the task at hand everything you have got. Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing excellently and maximally. This is because you won’t pass through life twice. Refuse to live casually and carelessly. Give your very best to every task.

2. Direct your time discreetly.

Don’t waste your time or spend time aimlessly; invest time. Use time wisely; don’t let time use you.

Ephesians 5:15 says, See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.

Exchange your time with something useful and profitable. Don’t let time pass you by without achieving anything meaningful.

Beloved, what is not your intention does not deserve your attention. There are many things that struggle for your time and attention. Give your time only to that which is your intention, that is, the intention that would guarantee profitable destination.

Please know that drinking alcohol, watching bad movies and pornography cannot be a good intention for the use of your time. That is squandering your time in a disastrous direction.

These days, there are all manner of WhatsApp messages flying about. Wisdom demands that you don’t get to read all these messages all the time especially those that are totally irrelevant. My counsel is, schedule a time to read them. First, scan through them to know if there is anyone you can learn lessons from. Otherwise, you end up wasting your time, and other people may be giving you the schedule of what to do with your life and time.

Remember this: Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing excellently and maximally; this is because you won’t pass through life twice.

1. Refuse to do things carelessly, shabbily and casually.

2. Give your best to what you do.

3. Direct your time wisely and don’t let people run your schedule.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to give my best to what I do. Help me to direct, invest and use my time wisely, and not to waste it, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: A wise man purchases books and all manner of Bible translations and computer aids to assist his study of the Bible. He attends seminars, takes courses and does anything to upgrade himself. A person that lacks wisdom has no time for such things. Culled from “21 FOOLISH THINGS PEOPLE DO” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Hosea 13-Joel 1

AMAZING FACT: There are one million ants for every human on our planet.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Your life shall not be wasted. Your generation shall benefit from your life in Jesus’ Name.
