*Understanding times and seasons*
*Text:* 1 Chronicles 12:32
_”of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command.”_
*# Understanding times and seasons requires INSIGHT #*
It takes insight to understand the times and seasons. Job 32:8 says, _”But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.”_ Insight combines hindsight and foresight for the understanding of times and seasons. When the breath of God blows over your spirit man, the end result is insight. No wonder when Nebuchadnezzar had a strange dream, he called for Daniel, a man of insight. Daniel 4:9 says, _”Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.”_ When the Spirit of God is at work in your heart, no secret will trouble you. You will understand times and seasons.
In Psalm90:12, Moses prayed to the Lord saying, _”So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”_ Wisdom is alien to people who lack understanding of times. It is important to number your days in order for you to appreciate the passing of times. There are certain things to be done at certain times and seasons of life. A wise person makes hay while the sun shines.
” _You are cleaned by the word that I have spoken unto you”_ John 15:3_

[10/1, 6:33 AM] faithemm2015: What to expect in life (1)
Thursday 1st October 2020
‘By faith Abraham obeyed…not knowing where he was going.’ Hebrews 11:8 NKJV
The Bible tells us, ‘By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going’ (Hebrews 11:8 NKJV).
For the next few days let’s look at some things you should expect on your life’s journey. (1) Opportunities and opposition. Paul wrote, ‘A great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries’ (1 Corinthians 16:9 NKJV). Indeed, you will encounter obstacles and opposition, and you should pray that God keeps us on the right track. As you progress on your God-given assignment there will often be attack. But here’s the good news: you are in Christ and so the enemy has to respect his authority in you and because of this the enemy considers you a high-value target and a threat to his plans.
(2) Setbacks meant to derail you. ‘A righteousman may fall seven times and rise again’ (Proverbs 24:16 NKJV). Who is Solomon describing? ‘A righteous man.’ How often does he fall and get back up? ‘Seven times.’ Failing doesn’t make you a failure; giving up does, not learning from it does, refusing to change your methods does, refusing to take advice does, refusing to try again does! If sin caused you to stumble, repent and renounce it, then get back on track. If you fell because you’re trying something new and unfamiliar, don’t beat yourself up. Instead, draw on God’s grace, resolve to do better and keep moving forward. To quote Dr John Maxwell: ‘Fail early, fail often – and always fail forward!’

*Text: “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness…” Psalm 82:5*
Here we are in the tenth month of this year. Its being the grace of God all the way. I have no doubt that the same grace will carry us through the year. Let’s get into our lesson for today right away. We are all conversant with nutritional deficiency in elementary science. A nutritional deficiency occurs when the body doesn’t absorb or get from the food necessary amount of a nutrient. Nutritional deficiency leads to a variety of health problems.
Revelation deficiency is when the recreated human spirit does not get the required amount of revelation of the word of God that is required to function at God’s best and design. Man does not live by nutritional content of food alone but by the revelation of God’s word made available in the human spirit (Luke 4:4). king Saul certainly must have been eating a highly balanced diet as a King. He certainly had no nutritional deficiency. However there was a revelation content required to face Goliath. He was suffering from revelation deficiency. David on the other had come with revelation on three(3) levels:
*1.He had a revelation of the way God operates;* he knew that whatever God has done before he can do again. The same God who dealt with the Lion and the Beer will deal with Goliath
*2.He had the revelation of the name of the Lord as a weapon that was sophisticated enough to handle the enemy.* King Saul only knew about human armour.
*3.David had a revelation of the covenant position Israel occupied with God.* David knew that Goliath was uncircumcised with no divine backing. His revelation of divine backing was full and sure.
When a believer is revelation deficient they become full of fear and anxiety. Their level of confidence drops in facing the battles of life. A revelation deficient believer evaluates life majorly from the point of weakness and not strength. A revelation deficient believer sees more of what the enemy is doing more than what God is doing. Go for knowledge.
My heart is filled with the revelation of God.

*Grace to be a Productive Nation*
_Genesis 25:27, 29-34a (NIV)_
_Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents. *Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.” “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”…So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew._
The economy of productive nations generally far exceeds the economy of those that primarily consume what other nations produce. It is often common place for consuming nations to extract their raw minerals and send them to producing nations, which then transform the raw materials into products before selling them back to the consuming nations at exorbitant prices. This is similar to what happened between Esau and Jacob in our text above. Esau was a hunter, meaning that he was skillful at extracting or catching animals from the forest. His challenge was likely that he was not skillful or patient enough to convert or process the animals he caught (from their raw state to finished products that could be consumed or sold). Jacob, on the other hand, was skillful in securing the raw materials of others and processing or converting them into finished products that could then be consumed or sold. Jacob was also skilful in strategic thinking and negotiation. Jacob valued what he had and he knew how to bargain for what he wanted. He considered the future and knew how to leverage opportunities and maximize them when opportuned.
Productivity begins in the mind, following which it is then reflected in productive attitudes and actions. Today, I believe that the grace to be a very productive nation is upon us. Beginning with our individual lives, we will shift from being mainly consumers and wasters of our valuable resources to producers who creatively process and maximize the potential of ideas and resources. Our leaders shall not only be productive, but will also institute the appropriate policies which will result in enabling environments that generate productivity in our nation.
Prayer Focus: Pray for every citizen and leader of our nation. Pray that a greater productive mindset and attitude will be stirred up in us.
[10/1, 6:33 AM] faithemm2015: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: THURSDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2020.
THEME: JUBILEE THROUGH CHRIST.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 4:18
READ: Leviticus 25:10-13
10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
12 For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
The Bible informs us that every human being is bound to experience some challenges and difficulties in life. The devil is out to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Many have become victims of bondage of stagnation, failure, fruitlessness, sickness, disappointment and misfortune. In Old Testament times, Jubilee- observed every fiftieth year, was a time of deliverance from debt as well as recovery of lost property.
The biblical laws regarding Jubilee were in three categories:
1. Redemption of Land
2. Redemption of Houses
3. Redemption of Slaves and Debts
I prophesy to anyone who needs deliverance and restoration: You shall receive Jubilee today in the mighty name of Jesus.
“…Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered” Isaiah 49:25
No matter how difficult your captivity experience may have been, JESUS is here to set you free!
Are you bound by sin, burdened by debt or threatened by poverty? Are you involved in a secret society or struggling under the weight of generational curses? Are you under the grip of one addiction or the other? Is your health under attack or the peace of your family threatened? Jubilee through Christ is available every day to everyone who will accept Him as their Lord and Savior. Accept Jesus today; He will come into your life and turn your situation around for good.
Father, I tap into the joy of Jubilee and receive freedom from all problems and challenges of life, in the mighty name of Jesus.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 1
AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE
HYMN 28: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS.
1. There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2. There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4. There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
