And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:24

READ: Romans 6:3-8

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Sometime ago, someone walked up to me and said “I have known you for a long time now and you have remained consistent with your faith.” I replied “That is because I am dead to the flesh.” A dead man does not change. Are you dead to the flesh?

A man that is dead to the flesh is not affected by the changes around him. He is not affected by criticism. If you slap a dead man, he would not react; insult him, he would not retaliate. That is the attitude of anyone who is dead to the flesh. Are you dead to the flesh? If your sincere answer is “No” then let us look at how you can become so.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33

The first thing is to forsake all that you have. You need to see no value in any material possession. Nothing in this world should be of more value to you than God. He said anyone who would follow Him must first deny himself (Luke 9:23). How do you know if you have forsaken all?

I once spoke to a man about Christ and he told me that he had surrendered all unto God- I knew he was not being sincere, so I said “Glory to God. Brother, please would you loan us your car for evangelism tomorrow?” His countenance changed immediately and he said “You know that is my only car and I have to go to work tomorrow.” So now, I want you to be sincere with yourself: Have you forsaken all for Him? If Jesus were to ask you to sell all that you have and give to the poor, would you?

Also, the flesh is very stubborn and will not go down without a fight. It can only be defeated by fasting and prayers. The more you fast, the more life you give to your spirit and less you give to the carnal nature. When you fast, your flesh begins to die to lusts. You would also begin to value the things of the Spirit far more than ephemeral things (Galatians 5:16-17).

From today, I declare that I am dead to the flesh in the mighty name of Jesus.

Luke 2: 39-52

1. Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
*Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be

_*…for he hath said…So that we may boldly say… (Hebrews 13:5-6).*_

In Christianity, you believe and speak: _*“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak”*_ (2 Corinthians 4:13). You don’t receive the Word to be quiet. If you don’t respond, the Word will do you no good.

Responding to the Word means more than “reciting” what God has said; you have to say something that’s consistent with what He has said. For example, He has said His divine power has granted you all things that pertain to life and godliness. Your response should be, “There’s no lack or want in my life, because all things are mine! I prosper everywhere and in all things to the glory of God!”

Your confession of the Word is your response to the Word; this is what will change your life and circumstances. Every time God speaks, anything He says is loaded with power. His words are never empty. So, what has God said to you? What have you discovered about you in the Word? Respond to the Word.

Even now, speak words that are consistent with God’s divine provisions, plans and purposes in Christ. Affirm that you’re making progress and manifesting the glory of Christ everywhere. Declare that good things are happening for you, through you and around you, because you’re the seed of Abraham. Activate the power of the Word in your life.

*My words are infused with divine energy, creating new and glorious realities, transforming circumstances, and changing situations to conform to God’s provisions, plans, and purposes in Christ. Thank you Lord for the reality of your ever-dependable Word in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.*

*Text: “And there arose a great STORM of wind…and he (Jesus) was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a PILLOW.” Mark 4:37-38*

We are going to begin our lesson today from the story of Joseph first and then perfect it from the account of Jesus. In the space of two (2) years I had the privilege of visiting and ministering to a group of prisoners. It’s not a place anyone would love to be; it’s a devastating experience. Joseph found himself in this predicament. It was a “storm” experience for him. He wasn’t in that position because he did something wrong. At different times in our lives we may come across situations that are similar not necessarily because we have done something wrong. “Storms” are an integral part of life.
Joseph found himself in the prison for an offence he did not commit. You will agree with me that Joseph had been in too many storms in his life. From the pit into slavery and from there to the prison. This was a storm expressed. At a point in the prison Joseph noticed that the servants that were with him were sad (Gen 40:6-7). This was obviously because he himself wasn’t sad. They were all going through the same storm but Joseph had a different disposition. He had an inner victory. Joseph was in the prison but the prison wasn’t inside him. His external condition did not become an internal disposition. This is a major factor in overcoming the circumstances of life.

*Note the following!!!!*

*1. The external storm must not become an internal battle.*

*2. The challenge at work, In marriage etc should not change your inner peace.*

*3. What you are going through must not go through you.*

*4. Maintaining an inner peace in the midst of the storm is necessary to go through the storm.*

I declare that my heart is flooded with the peace of God that passes human understanding.

“Then I saw a new sky [heaven], and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away [vanished], and there no longer existed any sea. And I saw the Holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband; then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live [encamp, tent] among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish [sorrow and mourning] nor grief nor pain anymore, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3-6 (AMPC)

God does not speak words that come to naught; He is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent [Numbers 23:19]; once has He spoken, twice have we heard [Psalms 62:11]. There is no Word as sure as the Word of God for it is a more sure Word of prophecy [II Peter 1:19]. As clearly said in our opening scripture, I decree, every negative “former” in your life – begging, borrowing, sickness, diseases, delays and denials come to an end now, in the Name of Jesus Christ!

From today’s scripture, the mighty voice with distinct words said, “SEE!” Scriptural pictures guarantee great future. You must see it to feature in it. You must see the good in this quarter to experience it. I decree that you see only Good Times, Better days, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Whatever has made you shed secret tears be turned to public testimony! My God wipe away your tears, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! You will never see premature death, shame and disgrace, in the Name of Jesus Christ! The remaining months of this year will not see your end; you shall see its end, in Jesus Name! It’s a NEW DAY for you and your family, in Jesus Name!

I declare, my NEW DAY has begun. A new chapter is opened unto me. I see greater opportunities and bigger achievements. I generate desirable results and profit immensely from the good that comes with each day. Thank You LORD, in Jesus Name!

You must see the good in this quarter to experience it.
