*TOPIC: DECIDING AND STRETCHING TO REACH YOUR DESTINY*
🗣️You may not reach your destiny until you stretch your potential.
*SCRIPTURE* 📖: Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. 2 Kings 4:35
*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* 🤔: You may not reach your destiny until you stretch your potential.
It has been confirmed that decision, especially the decision to stretch yourself is key to destination; decision determines destiny.
Take a look at this illustration: An energetic young man may have the ability to do only ten push-ups at a stretch without getting tired when he is not under any stress. But if he decides to join the military and goes for military recruitment training, a military officer may ask him to do many more number of push-ups as part of the requirements for the recruitment. After just 15 push-ups, he may get tired and decide to relax. The military officer would shout at him and threaten to send him home if he failed to do up to 50 push-ups or above. Now, by the time this young man realises the circumstance he finds himself, even though his body could no longer carry him to do the push-up, his mind would continue the push-up. He wouldn’t be aware of how his body moves up and down. In fact, he wouldn’t know when he hits the required push-up mark.
Now this is what happened: his mind was adjusted by the information he got and his body simply complied with it.
*Understand this: The capacity of the human mind is infinite. But you cannot get the best of the mind until you force it by stretching it to work. You may not reach your destiny until you stretch your potential* .
*Remember this* 💡: You may not reach your destiny until you stretch your potential.
*1. Decide to stretch yourself in order to reach your destiny* .
*2. Determine never to run away from the rigorous and the unusual in order to realise destiny* .
*3. Tap the treasures of your mind by putting it to work* .
*PRAYER* 🙏🏼: O Lord, I receive the grace to stretch myself and reach my destiny. Help me to realize the potentials You have put inside me by putting my mind to work Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

*KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND LIVE ACCORDINGLY .*
Friday, October 16th .
_*That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).*_
As Christians, we’re different from those in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, they were called to obey the Word; but in the New Testament, we’re Word practitioners; we’re the expression of the Word; it’s called the mirror principle. God’s idea is that if He shows you who you are, you’d live accordingly.
Therefore, when you come across a verse such as Ephesians 4:25: _*“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour…,”*_ act exactly as He said by putting lying away. The mirror shows you as one who puts lying away, so do it. It’s not a commandment. In the Old Testament, it was a commandment not to lie; but in the New Testament, we do the Word and walk in truth. The Bible says _*“…the law is not made for a righteous man…”*_ (1 Timothy 1:9), and we’re God’s righteous ones (Romans 1:17).
In the Old Testament, He gave them laws, but in the New Testament, He gave us His nature, His life of righteousness, so we can live right. It explains why if you did something that isn’t consistent with your nature of righteousness, you’re troubled from within. By your own spirit, you’re able to tell and judge, because of His light in you. This is why we teach righteousness, so God’s people can become conscious of who they are in Christ and live accordingly.
*I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, unblameable and irreprovable in His sight. I’m conscious of this nature of righteousness in my spirit; therefore, every day, I produce works of righteousness, walking in perfection and in the love of the Father. Amen.*
*FURTHER STUDY:* *||* *Colossians 1:20-22* And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: *||*
*||* *James 1:22-25* But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. *||*

*SAVED TO SAVE OTHERS*
Obadiah 1:21 (KJV)
*And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s .*
We are saved to ensure the salvation of our household, community, town and the world at large. Thus, our salvation must not end with us but must be trans-generational.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (KJV)
*And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;*
*To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.*
*Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.*
We are Christ’s ambassadors, that is, we are His representatives on earth. The mission and ministry of Christ are now ours. His passion must have expression through us.
Luke 19:10 (AMP) *For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.*
1 Timothy 1:15 (KJV)
*This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.*
To be a true ambassador of Christ is to be an addicted soul winner. The same work He came to do has been committed into our hands.
In fact, God through Christ gave us the gospel to make new creatures and make our world a better place. This is the major way to eliminate crime and other social vices. The power of the gospel can take care of all. Beloved, until the earth is filled with the knowledge and glory of God we must not be quiet.
Isaiah 11:9 (KJV)
*They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord , as the waters cover the sea.*
Isaiah 6:3 (KJV)
*And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.*
Beloved, we should no longer stay in the comfort of our beautiful churches, we are commanded to go into all places and compel multitude into the kingdom of our Father.
Luke 14:23 (KJV)
*And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.*
Mark 16:15 (KJV)
*And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.*
We must all be “On the go” for Christ by intereceding for the kingdom in prayers and reaching out to the lost with zeal, passion and love. By so doing, we are partnering with Christ.
A. *Shining destiny*
This is one assignment that turns the saints of God to stars on earth.
Daniel 12:3 (KJV)
*And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.*
This is a kingdom mystery for the making of stars in the kingdom. The more souls won for the kingdom, the more your destiny will be polished, beautified and moved to greatness.
Step out today, talk to someone about the love of Christ. Remember the lost and God’s kingdom in your prayers.
> Thank you my heavenly Father for the gift of life and another beautiful day you have made.
> Thank you my heavenly Father for your love to me and my household.
> Thank you Lord Jesus for the sacrifice of the cross that rescued my soul from destruction.
> Thank you sweet Holy Spirit for your companionship.

*Rest on Every side*
*Text:* 1Kings 5:4
_”But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.”_
*How to enjoy rest on every side*
*# Cultivate the atmosphere of His presence #*
The presence of God guarantees rest from every strife and storm. In Ex 33:14, the word of God says about Moses, _”The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”_ When you carry the presence of God with you, you will experience rest even in the midst of the test. Despite the battles ahead of Moses and the children of Israel, the presence of the Lord gave them victory over all of them. If you desire rest on every side, you cannot afford to play with God’s presence.
The Bible says, _”You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”_(Ps 16:11). There is no other place to enjoy joyful rest like His presence. In the midst of the pressures of life, there are pleasures at His right hand forever. Oh that we will desire the presence of the Lord everyday of our lives.
David umderstood the importance of God’s presence. In Ps 42:1, he said, _”As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?”_. When a deer is attacked by a lion, it runs straight for the water brooks and dips it’s neck in the water. The bleeding stops and it is saved. David likened his desire for God’s presence to the deer’s survival instinct. No matter the stress and the test of life, your survival is in His presence. Desire and cultivate His presence and you will find rest there.

*NEITHER THE PAST NOR THE PRESENT*
TEXT: *Luke 17:20-37*
*“Remember Lot’s wife.”* – (Luke17:32)
Recently, there was public outcry in a country in West Africa when the authorities phased out the teaching of History in secondary schools. The government was accused of retarding national development which the people believed only tips from the past could offer. They held that the past should not be forgotten altogether; it possesses some nuggets of gold that can embellish the present and guide us into a golden future.
But not all peep into the past has left behind what is helpful. It can be fatal, as it was with Lot’s wife. She flouted God’s commandment not to gaze back at soon-to-be judged Sodom and Gomorrah. She set her sight on the twin cities of sin and became a pillar of salt. As our Lord Jesus Christ taught on His prophecy on the destruction of Jerusalem and later the end of time to be signalled by His Second Coming, it would be perilous to look back in nostalgia for the things of the world we ought to forsake.
The end of the age would witness the emergence of materialistic citizens who would be consumed by such seemingly harmless social activities: marriage, commerce, pursuit of education, burials, housewarming, politics, etc. Man would not have the time for the weightier issues of holiness, solemn watch for the sign of the Son of Man and relentless evangelism to halt the rush of the unsaved into hell.
The deep lesson the Master teaches in the passage is that we should not thirst for our past, its snatches of fleeting joys notwithstanding. Nor should we be rooted in the illusory euphoria of the present, with all its celebrated glitz. None of these has the power to lead one to heaven. Our Lord calls for an engaging daily relationship with Him through watchfulness for His return, sticking to His word, and above all, longing for our glorious future and eternity in heaven.
*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY*:
Don’t get stuck in the past or present; focus on your eternity with Jesus in heaven.
