_*Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (John 14:8-9).*_

The Bible says in Jesus dwells the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form (Colossians 2:9), meaning anyone who wants to know what God looks like should look at Jesus. No wonder Jesus said to Philip, _*“…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”*_ Jesus is the express image of the Father’s Person.

Some believe that, in heaven, there’re three thrones: one for the Father, one for the Son, Jesus, and then another for the Holy Spirit; but that’s not true. The Father joyfully appointed Jesus as the heir of all things, including His throne.

Thus in heaven, there’s only one throne, and Jesus is the one sitting on that throne. Where then is the Father? He’s in Jesus! The Bible says it pleased the Father, that in Him (Jesus) should all fullness dwell (Colossians 1:19). Then Colossians 2:9 lets us know that in Him (Jesus) dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. If you’ve seen Jesus, you’ve seen the Father.

No wonder when He said in John 10:30, _*“I and my Father are one,”*_ the Jews picked up stones and wanted to kill Him; why? They said He made Himself equal with God: _*“…for blasphemy, and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God”*_ (John 10:33).

The Jews understood what Jesus meant when He said, _*“I and my Father are one.”*_ But they considered His words blasphemous because they didn’t know who He was. Jesus is the perfect image and icon of the Godhead. He’s the expression of God’s glory, and by inheritance, He obtained a more excellent Name in all of heaven and earth. Philippians 2:9-11 declares, _*“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”*_ He’s the King of kings, and Lord of lords. Hallelujah!

*Dear Lord Jesus, I ascribe to you all glory, honour and majesty. You’re the joy of heaven, and the bright morning star! You’re the beauty of divinity, and the perfect expression of the Father’s person. I worship and adore you precious Saviour, for there’s none like you! May your kingdom reign in the earth, and be established forever in the hearts of all men. Amen.*

_*“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV*_

_*I have observed that the devil uses circumstances to play a mind game on believers. That is his area of operation and he is a master at it. If you try to engage him in that arena you will lose. He will put pressure on you. He will make you feel that that sickness is about you. He will make you feel all the negative vibes and make them as real as possible. But the God we serve is not in the company of those who say yes when he means no.*_

_*God is always a yes God. Every promise has been validated in the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. There is no single promise that does not have a yes answer. Every promise has been paid for by the blood. So, your part is to agree with the promise. Never let your mind get on the way. It is your spirit that will educate your mind. When you go to school, you receive information through your mind or your mental faculty. When you read books, theories and all the stuff, you receive information. But when it comes to spiritual things; it has nothing to do with natural information. It is a revelation from God.*_

_*You see, it is the Spirit that rules that very circumstance. That is why the Spiritual realm will look at a woman who has no womb and say, you are going to have a child. That does not make natural sense at all. Your sense will tell you it can never happen. Looking at all the medical reports, there is no way you can have a baby. But the truth is that the Spirit world rules, controls and governs the natural realm. So it has nothing to do with the natural. It has everything to do with God Almighty.*_

[10/20, 6:16 AM] faithemm2015: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Ephesians 5:26

READ: Colossians 3:5-17

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Some people keep returning to sin over and over, despite having asked Jesus to come into their lives. They wonder how others live above sin. The answer is sanctification. When a person is sanctified, he/she loses the taste for sin. The Bible describes it in Hebrews 1:9:
“Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”

When a person is sanctified, sinful habits that used to excite him/her become irritating. As a result, the fellow is able to lead a life of holiness in Christ. Sanctification is the grace of God that helps a man to live above sin. If you are still struggling with sin, then you need to be sanctified.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9

To be sanctified, you must first confess all your sins to God (1 John 1:9). You can also experience sanctification if you are an avid student of the word of God. John 17:17 says:
“ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

If you want to enjoy your Christian life, feed on the word of God. David said in Psalm 119:11:
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

The more of God’s word you study, the more sin will disgust you. If you are studying your Bible, God’s word will begin to influence the way you see things and how you behave.

The word of God has a Spirit which gives life, and that life, being Jesus will enter into you as you study it daily. It is Jesus who makes it easy for you to live holy. Take up the challenge today and you will overcome sin, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Study at least one chapter of the Bible by yourself daily. You need the word to stay satisfied.

Mark 9
Luke 9:28-62

1. Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
*Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

[10/20, 6:16 AM] faithemm2015: *LIFE AND FAVOUR*

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

2 Thessalonians 1:3 (KJV)
*We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;*

Spiritual growth means growing in love for God and humanity. The more you grow in love the more you will be able to bear all men. The more of God (love) you have in you, the more humanity will be enjoying the blessings of God through you. Your spiritual growth is important to God just as the growth of a child to his parents. When a child is not growing as expected, it becomes a concern and worry to the parents because of its negative effect on their plan for the child.

When a believer is not growing spiritually, that is, growing in love, God cannot pass through such a person to reach out to the world and humanity at large. The more love you have in you, the more God’s blessings will be oozing out of you.

*Attributes of Love*

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT)
[4] *Love is patient and kind.* *Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.*
[5] *It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.*
[7] *Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.*

God is love and the scripture says we are born of God. That means we are born of love. Also, we are called to imitate and follow God. You might say how can this be possible with human nature? When you received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, the seed of love was deposited in you and as you continue to study His word, the Holy Spirit keeps releasing the love of God into your heart, thereby making it easy for you to walk in love. (Romans 5:5)

1 John 2:5 (KJV)
*But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.*

The more you are depositing the Word of God into your spirit, the more you will be manifesting His nature which is love. And as you continue to extend the love of God to other people, you are actually moving towards spiritual growth and maturity. At this point, you become a blessing to humanity and your life begins to refresh the heart of our heavenly father, because by your activities, men will be giving glory to the Lord.

Matthew 5:16 (NLT) *In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.*

> Thank you my Lord for the blessing of a new day.

> Thank you my Lord for the gift of life and multitude of your mercies.

> Thank you my Father for giving me victory over all manipulations of the wicked.

> Thank you Father for daily supply of all my needs.

1. Ephesians 3:19 (KJV)
*And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.*

O Lord my Father, release upon me grace to be rooted in love towards you and all men in the mighty name of Jesus!

2. Ephesians 4:15 (KJV)
*But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:*

Ephesians 5:2 (KJV)
*And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.*

O Lord my Father, I ask for your empowerment to always walk in love towards all men in the mighty name of Jesus!

3. Psalm 43:3 (KJV)
*O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.*

O Lord my God, release your light to guide me into perfection in the mighty name of Jesus!

4. Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)
*Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,*

O Lord my Father, grant me grace to lay aside everything that is not increasing your presence in my life in the mighty name of Jesus!

5. Psalm 71:21 (KJV)
*Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.*

10. Jeremiah 48:25 (KJV)
*The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.*

O Lord our God, visit our nation and put an end to all injustice in the mighty name of Jesus!

11. Micah 5:9 (KJV)
*Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.*

O Lord our God, cut off all the enemies of progress in our nation in the mighty name of Jesus!

12. Psalms 74:21 (KJV)
*O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.*

O Lord our God, deliver all the oppressed from the ruling class in our nation in the mighty name of Jesus!

Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!

*Teach and Assign Tasks to Those You are Equipping*

_Luke11:1-2 (GNB), Ephesians 4:11-12 (NKJV)_
_One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say this: ‘Father: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come. *And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ._

Deliberate teaching also plays a major role in equipping people. In 2 Timothy 2:1-2, Apostle Paul said to Timothy, “Thou therefore, my son be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” You need to invest such quality time with those you are equipping that they will be able to teach others also. Mark 9:30-31a (GNB) says, “Jesus and his disciples left that place and went on through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where he was because he was teaching his disciples…”

Teach those you are equipping everything you know. Do not assume that they know. Jesus said, “…teach them to obey everything I have commanded you, Matt.28:20 (GNB). Teach them how to pray. Teach them how to show love. Teach them how to preach the gospel and how to heal the sick. Teach them how to study the Bible. Do not just give them answers. show them the process.

Jesus also equipped His disciples by giving them several tasks to do, In John 6:10-12, Jesus made His disciples usher the multitude to sit down. He gave them the bread and fish to distribute and also asked them to gather the fragments. ln Luke 9:1-2, Jesus empowered His disciples and sent them out to preach the gospel and heal the sick. Trust people and involve them in your process. The work of the ministry is for the saints to achieve. Equip people and send them out to manifest. The same applies to your family and every other endeavor you are engaged in. You will be amazed at how people will grow and be more effective as you deliberately teach them and delegate tasks for them to do.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I receive Your wisdom and direction to be more deliberate in teaching and delegating tasks to those I am called to equip.
