[10/29, 6:19 AM] faithemm2015: ‘The higher things’

Thursday 29th October 2020

‘Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above.’ Colossians 3:2 AMP

The Bible says, ‘Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above, not on things that are on the earth’ (Colossians 3:2AMP). There are many things that happen in this world that can easily affect our mind and emotions, and we need to learn how to rise above them.

When negative thoughts are building up and trying to take control of our emotions, we need to take a few minutes to set our minds and keep them focused on ‘the things above’. It often helps to speak positively about whatever is bothering you. For example, have a chat with yourself that goes something like this: ‘My family may not be everything I’d like it to be, but I’m thankful I have a family. My house may not be as nice as I’d like it to be, but it’s still a good place to live. I might be going through a difficult time right now, but Jesus is with me and he’s going to get me through it.’

The devil knows which of your buttons to push to get an emotional reaction. So what should you do? Stand on God’s Word: ‘Blessed [with wisdom and prosperity] is the man whom you discipline and instruct, O Lord, and whom you teach from your law, that you may grant him [power to calm himself and find] peace in the days of adversity’ (Psalm 94:12-13 AMP). The more you discipline yourself to say no to your feelings and yes to the wisdom of God, the easier it becomes to defeat the enemy in a spiritual tug-of-war. So decide today that you won’t arrange your life around unreliable emotions, and focus instead on ‘the things above’

[10/29, 6:19 AM] faithemm2015: *LIFE AND FAVOUR*

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

John 10:34-35 (KJV)
[34] *Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?*
[35] *If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;*

The word of God is the principal activator of supernatural in our lives. It is the word that gives birth to supernatural living. When the word of God enters your heart on any issue, the entrance makes you a god over that issue. That is, the word settles every issue of our lives.

In the above scripture, those He called gods are those unto whom the word of God came. As good as coming to church is, if you don’t open your heart for the word, you cannot manifest the supernatural life. The entrance of the word sparks up the supernatural.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
*Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.*

The reason some believers are suffering shame, poverty and defeat is lack of adequate exposure to the word of God via study and other learning channels.

1 John 1:5 (KJV)
*This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.*

Psalm 119:130 (KJV)
*The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.*

Scripture says God is light and the entrance of His word brings light that means the entrance of His word releases His person and presence into action in our lives.

Beloved, all you need to dispel all forms of darkness ( challenges ) in your life is the entrance of God’s light through His word. Open your heart to His word, meditate on them then it will transform you. Stop thinking about your issues but begin to meditate on the word of God concerning it.

Don’t forget, it is the entrance of the word of God that makes a god of any child of God in a threatening situation. Do not focus on what the *world* says but what the *word* says.

Focusing on the activities of the devil weakens you while focusing on God’s word and His authority strengthens you.

*Text: “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” Ephesians 3:16*

The strength of the Spirit is what David referred to as the strength of the Lord. Psalm 71:16 says “I will go in the strength of the Lord God…” This is principally the only explanation for how he was able to face all the hurdles of life he went through. At a very young age he confronted Goliath who had been an expert at war all his life. At a particular time in his life he had to go after the Philistines to rescue his family and properties. All these were done not in human strength but in the strength of the Spirit.

The alternative to the strength of the Spirit is what is referred to as the “…Strength of a horse…the legs of a man” Psalm 147:10. This is a description of human efforts that are void of divine input, it is written that by human strength shall no man prevail. David clearly showed us that God does not take delight or pleasure in all these. The strength of the Spirit works through our recreated human Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes in to strengthen us with might in our inner man. With this we’ll find ourselves doing things that are beyond our age and experience.

Gideon was commissioned by God to fight the Midianites. He gave God all the reasons in the world why he was unqualified for that assignment. He was the smallest in his family. God was not asking him to do it in human strength but rather in the strength of the Spirit. He said to him “…Go in this thy might, and thou shall save Israel…” That was the might given by God to fight and win. Please go forth in the strength of the Spirit become all you were meant to become.

The strength of the Spirit is at work in my spirit. I am strengthened with might by God’s Spirit in my inner man.

[10/29, 9:21 AM] Jesus The Fruitful Vine Gospel Mission (Realm Of God): *SEEDS 🍉🥑🥔🌽 OF DESTINY*
28th October, 2020.
Daily Devotional by Pastor Paul Enenche.

SCRIPTURE📖: “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Numbers 13:33.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY🤔: Inferior mentality or low self-esteem is the strength of captivity, adversity and calamity.

🗣️: It has been confirmed that one deadly enemy of destiny is called inferiority complex, rejection or low self-esteem.

Dr Mike Murdock calls it the “Grasshopper mentality”. It is the mentality one has when one says, “I am not like other people. I cannot make it in life. God does not love me. Other people can succeed but not me.” Inferior mentality or low self-esteem is the strength of captivity, adversity and calamity. Resist it!

In Numbers 13:33, where Dr Mike Murdock got the phrase, the “Grasshopper mentality”, the Bible says, “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

Can you see how the children of Israel saw themselves? They saw themselves as grasshoppers; that is, they were confined by their mentality to the grass.

When people talk, they simply manifest the mentality they have in them. For instance, you tell someone, “I saw your name as one of the new employees the Central Bank of Nigeria just shortlisted. Are you not John Michael?” And he may say, “Me? Who ‘dash monkey banana?’ It must be another John Michael.” He has limited his destiny to that of a monkey and its constant feeding on banana because of inferiority complex. That will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, *determine never to be resisted by inferiority complex.*

Remember this💡: “Inferior mentality or low self-esteem is the strength of captivity, adversity and calamity.”

*1. Refuse to belittle yourself and God’s purpose for your life.*

*2. Reject every grasshopper mentality.*

*3.See yourself the way God sees you.*

PRAYER🙏🏽: O Lord, I reject every grasshopper mentality. I receive the grace to renew my mind and see myself as You see me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: “Inferiority complex can easily set in when a man is neither growing intellectually nor ‘revelationally’”. Culled from “21 FOOLISH THINGS PEOPLE DO” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING📖: Luke 22-24

AMAZING FACT😳: The Naked Mole-Rat can live in an almost zero oxygen atmosphere. Incredibly, in a zero oxygen environment, the Naked Mole-Rat can still survive for up to 20-minutes without suffering any harm at all.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD🔊🌧️: In the Name of Jesus, every power of inferiority mentality is broken off your mind today.
*Good Morning*🌹🌻

[10/29, 9:21 AM] Jesus The Fruitful Vine Gospel Mission (Realm Of God): OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MEMORISE: He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Proverbs 16:32

READ: Ephesians 4:31-32
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 17:11-18:14

Anger is so dangerous because it can destroy a lifetime of achievement within seconds. Ask Moses: a man who God spoke to face to face (Exodus 33:11), the man who led the children of Israel out of bondage in Egypt and also caused the Egyptian army to be destroyed in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:27,28). Many great miracles had happened through him and he was on the to leading the children of Israel to the promise land, but anger ended his mission within seconds. (Numbers 20:10-12).

Anger is a destiny-killer and that is why I am determined never to get angry again in my life. I was once asked to act the role of an angry man in a play. As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t do it because I had dealt with anger so much in my life. Once in a while, things happen around me that can get me anger but I ensure that I do not stop doing things that help me avoid anger.

Always be in control of your emotions. Anger has a way of making people say or do things they wouldn’t normally. You need to be in control so anger does not take you in that direction. When people say “That is how I behave when I get angry”, it shows they don’t place great value on their destiny. If you let anger dictate how you behave, it will also dictate how far you go. Proverbs 25:28 says:

“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”

You have control; use it!

When someone gets me angry, I sing choruses. As I sing, I am inviting the Holy Spirit to take control and since He is a gentle Spirit, once He comes in, the anger will go. At others times, you may just quietly leave a place to avoid getting angry.

Whatever you do, ensure anger does not control you.

“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” Ecclesiastes 7:9

Don’t be a fool.

If you let anger dictate how you behave, it will also dictate how far you go in life.

1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save from wrath and make me pure.

2. Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

3. Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

4. While I draw this fleeting breath,
When my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
And behold Thee on Thy throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
