Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
Psalm 67:5-6

READ: Psalm 92:12-15

92:12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 92:13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 92:14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; 92:15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Those whom the Lord refers to as the “flourishing” are those who have the capacity to lend to nations. They are the kind of people that nations can humbly go to in order to explain their needs, anticipating that they will receive something impactful from them. The first thing you need in order to flourish is divine favour. In Romans 9:15-16, God said:

“…I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

In other words, struggling for wealth does not necessarily lead to prosperity. This is why an African proverb says, “It is not the lack of food that stops a cat from being as big as the dog.”

After God has shown you favour, the next thing you need in order to flourish is hard work. Lazy people don’t work hard, so they don’t flourish. In John 5:17b, Jesus Christ said:

“My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”

God is a hard worker, so it would not be in His character to cause a lazy fellow to flourish. In Proverbs 13:4a, the Bible says:

“The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing:”

In my lifetime, I have seen a lot of people who want to flourish without working hard. They remain poor, because God’s word cannot be broken. His word says in Proverbs 22:29:

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

If you don’t want to work hard, then there is no way God can cause you to flourish. When God wants to bless someone, He opens doors to him or her. However, if He opens a door for you, He won’t push you through it; you will have to do what it takes to go through it yourself.

For you to flourish, beyond working hard, you must work right. Working hard is not as important as working right, otherwise all labourers would be the richest people in the world. Peter and some other disciples fished all night but they caught nothing because they were fishing in the wrong place (John 21:3-6). You can only know which way to cast your net if you have surrendered the boat of your life to the Master. Those whose hearts are sold out to Jesus never lack direction. They always have net-breaking catches because Jesus tells them which direction to cast their nets. Is it so with you?

Father, I am wiling to work hard and work right; please bless me today.

Ezra 4-6, Revelation 22

1 There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

3 There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

4 There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

5 There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

SCRIPTURE: For all flesh is as grass,”and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away.

1 Peter 1″:24

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your longevity in life is connected to your spirituality. Your depth in God determines your length of life.

Our anchor Scripture above reveals that the existence of human being on the earth is transient.  No matter how beautiful,”handsome, tall or short a person is, his/her flesh is as grass. No matter how powerful, influential or popular a person is, that person’s flesh is also like grass that is liable to perish. There were people who lived as if their lives would never end. They brought pain and sorrow to humanity; they were so powerful that nobody thought they could bow to death, yet the bowed because they were flesh, and as grass they all perished.  For example, there was a man called Adolf Hitler of Germany; he was like the god of the whole world at a time, but he too was grass, and he bowed. What of Idi Amin Dada of Uganda? He committed unimaginable atrocities against his people, but he too was grass, and he bowed. There was another dictator called Mobutu Sese Seko of the Democratic Republic of Congo who was very corrupt, yet he too was grass. Sani Abacha of Nigeria was a military dictator. He was very autocratic and brutal, but he was grass too, and he bowed. Michael Jackson ruled and reigned in the pop music world. They called him the king of pop music, but he bowed to the King of kings because he was grass. Their money, fame, name and wisdom could not save them on the day of death.

Beloved, the only way to escape the disaster of the grassy nature of mortal life is to be rooted in God. Your longevity in life is connected to your spiritualty. Your depth in God determines your length of life.

REMEMBER THIS”: Your longevity in life is connected to your spiritualty. Your depth in God determines your length of life.

1. In all you do or achieve in life,”be conscious of the fact that you are also grass(flesh) because it is the consciousness of consequence that imparts caution to life’s actions.

2. Let investment into the kingdom of God and into the lives of people be a priority instead of investment only on the flesh that would perish.

PRAYER”: Lord,”I receive the grace to be conscious of Your help in my life always. Help me to be deeply rooted in You. And deliver me from the decadence of this generation, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE”: It is an eternal foolishness to make investments on earth without eternal investment; any money that would take you to hell,”you don’t need it. Culled from ‘365 Wisdom Capsules’ by Dr Paul Enenche

*The Overflow of God’s Grace and Glory*

_2 Corinthians 4:15-16 (NLT), Genesis 12:2 (AMP)_
_All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. *And l will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished , and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]._

There is a shift that needs to take place in your mind as you grow spiritually. It is a shift from judging the value of your life by what you are experiencing or enjoying, to what the lives of others are experiencing or enjoying because of you. You shift from being a container of God’s life and blessings to a channel of God’s life and blessing to flow unto others. As God’s channel you can never run dry. When something is really full, it overflows. What you are really full of is what others experience because of you. Being a blessing to others may require you going through suffering, 2 Cor. 1:3-6.

Remember that our spiritual growth is measured by how much our lives are becoming more like Christ. As you grow spiritually, you must have the same mind that was in Christ that made Him willing to sacrifice all His glory as God to become a man to suffer and die a shameful death for the hope and redemption of many, Phil. 2:5-9, Isa.53:11. At a certain time, Apostle Paul was contemplating whether to go home and be with the Lord or to remain and be a blessing to believers. He eventually chose to remain on earth because it was going to benefit other believers, Phil.1:23-26. He went through so much persecution just for preaching the gospel but he did not mind because it was blessing more souls for the glory of God. He described other believers as his hope; joy and crown of rejoicing, 1 Thes. 2:19. His great love for others reflected not only in his . sufferings for others but also in his prayers for other believers, Rom 1:9.

Dear Father, please let your grace and glory overflow from my life unto others. Even if it will cost me pain and suffering.
