*THEME: TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE.*
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
2 Corinthians 10:6
*Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 15:17-22*
17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?
18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
Disobedience has the evil tag of being the first sin man committed. The deadly mystery of this sin is that disobedient people more often than not never accept blame for their act. They tend to give excuses and blame other people or “factors beyond their control”. This is what Adam did when God questioned him concerning his disobedience. Genesis 3:12 says:
“And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.”
Unfortunately, his excuse did not clear him of responsibility, nor did it deter God from punishing him. Another person who gave excuse for disobedience is King Saul. In today’s Bible reading, when he was confronted with his sin, he tried to justify himself by using the good act of sacrifice as an excuse for his disobedience. In response to his attempt at justifying himself, God’s prophet told him in 1 Samuel 15:22:
“……..Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
Let us take a closer look at King Saul’s excuse for disobeying God. 1 Samuel 15:21 says:
“But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.”
Saul’s excuse was that it was not him, but the people who took the spoil. This makes one wonder who was leading who in the battle against the Amalekites. He was just trying to pass the buck. He felt he could appease God or His prophet, Samuel, by presenting a big offering in the form of sacrifice:
Beloved, in what areas are you disobeying God? You better repent today and cultivate the habit of living by the dictates of the infallible word of God. No amount of service you render to God can take the place of obeying His word. No amount of money given as seed offerings, tithes or donations can justify indulging in fraudulent practices at your place of work. May the Lord give you the grace to obey His commandments to the letter in Jesus’ Name.
Father, please help me to obey you willingly and completely as a show of my gratitude to You for Your goodness and mercy over me.

*HYMN 3: TRUST AND OBEY.*
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

TOPIC: FROM REVELATION TO MANIFESTATION
SCRIPTURE: Arise,”shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. Isaiah 60″:1
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is your revelation from the Word that determines your manifestations in life.
Sometime ago,”I stepped out of my office and before me was a young man, the only son of his mother, tied with chains having four padlocks. Four people struggled to hold him. Immediately, my heart welled up with compassion. But unfortunately for the bastard devil that tormented the young man, before leaving the office, I saw light that told me that whoever hears me hears Him (Jesus Christ) from Luke 10″:16. It says: He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. In other words,”He told me that His Voice was inside my voice; therefore, any devil that cannot disobey His Voice cannot disobey my voice.
So, I looked at the young man and said”: ‘Leave him!’ And those who held him looked at each other,”and I believe that they were saying in their minds something like, ‘Leave who? The person that four of us could not hold?’ Nevertheless, they left him. No prayer was prayed yet. Next, I said, ‘Loose him!’ And they were wondering, ‘Loose who?’ They must have thought”: ‘Well,”if he says we should loose him, we should because he is also here, in case this young man starts manifesting.’ So, they loosed him. His hands were bleeding. I looked at him with compassion and I said to him, ‘Sorry.’ He replied, ‘Thank you sir,’ and adjusted his cloth. I said to him, ‘Go on your knees.’ He went on his knees and I led him to Christ. And I said to him, ‘You are free, in Jesus’ Name, Arise!’ I said to his mother, ‘Mother, have your son.’ And he was instantly and absolutely free.
Beloved, it is your revelation from the Word that determines your manifestations in life.
Remember this”: It is your revelation from the Word that determines your manifestations in life.
1. Let the Word of God power every action you take in life.
2. Act on every revelation you receive in order to experience corresponding results in life.

[7/15, 7:09 AM] 919063: Approach God as a child
Monday 15th July 2019
‘Unless you… become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.’ Matthew 18:3 TLB
Matthew writes: ‘The disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” Jesus called a little child to him…He said…”Unless you… become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven”‘ (Matthew 18:1-4 NLT). To do great things for God, you must approach him with a childlike attitude.
You can learn a lot from watching little children. Wherever they are, they find a way to enjoy whatever they’re doing. They’re quick to forgive an offence. One moment they’re fighting over something, the next moment they’re playing happily together. And trusting comes easily to them. Your children don’t worry about mortgage payments, meals or making ends meet because they implicitly trust that you will provide what they need.
What was Jesus teaching us? (a) To have simple faith. (b) To pray simple prayers. (c) To be quick to repent. (d) To reach regularly for God’s help. (e) To believe that your heavenly Father is good and that ‘no good thing will he withhold from those who walk uprightly’ (Psalm 84:11 NKJV). Plus, when you forgive children, they don’t run around feeling guilty and condemned. With this kind of simplicity in your relationship with God, you’ll find yourself growing spiritually and enjoying him more than ever. And that should be your goal.

*God has Promised You His Leading and Divine Guidance*
_Psalms 32:8 ( NKJV & LB), Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)_
_I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will guide you with My eye. *I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress. *Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left._
God does not want you to walk in the path of error or danger in any area of your life and He has promised and committed Himself to always give you His leading and guidance. He wants you to have the best of His will, plan and provisions for you at all times and to always make the right decisions. You are God’s sheep and He is a Good Shepherd. He is in charge of leading you and ensuring the best for you always. Because the Lord is your Shepherd, you will not lack anything, Psa. 23:1. He will always lead you in the path of peace, abundance and rest for your soul. In your difficult times, He will guide you and lead you. You will triumph and prevail in all the challenges and battles of your life. The Lord will teach your hands to war and your fingers to fight, Psa. 144:1. You shall not be confused and you shall never be stranded.
As you ask God for wisdom, He will grant it to you abundantly, James 1:5. You will know what to do and you will do the right thing continually. The Lord will order your steps, Psa. 37:23. Your path shall be like a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day, Prov. 4:18. Someone greater than Solomon is inside you, Luke 11:31. Christ is your wisdom, 1 Cor. 1:30. Christ is the wisdom of God, 1 Cor. 1:24. As Jesus did mighty works by the wisdom of God (Mark 6:2), you too will do mighty works by that same wisdom of God that is in you. As God’s child, you have the ability to hear His voice, John 10:27. Because you have God’s Spirit in you, you have the ability to know what is on God’s mind, 1 Cor.2:9 – 12. His Word is also strategically placed as a lamp to your feet and a light to your path, Psa. 119:105.
I thank you, dear Lord, for Your Spirit that is leading and guiding me in every area of my life. I receive Your wisdom right now.

GOD’S WORD CANNOT FAIL
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:11 KJV
One basic truth every believer must know is the fact that the Word of God cannot lie. “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life and the life is the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness and darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:1-5 KJV) When you put the Word in your mouth, the devil will not be able to comprehend you. You become invincible to him. Rather than him becoming a problem to you, you will be a problem to him.
The scripture says that “God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”(Numbers 23:19 KJV)
In Hebrews 6:18, we understand that God has confirmed His promise by the two immutable things which make it impossible for Him to lie. In the first place, God’s Word is infallible. Yet He added an oath to it. An oath settles everything concerning anything. So, if you don’t believe His Word, you can believe the oath.
The book of Philippians chapter 4, verse 19 makes it clear that God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Since there is no shortage in heaven, you cannot suffer lack because you belong to the Kingdom that does not lack. If you are in Christ, your needs are already met. That should be your attitude. If you want to keep the devil’s mouth permanently shut, learn to declare what God has said about you. Don’t even wait until he attacks you. Declare it ever before the attack comes.

Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.
Song of Solomon 8:7
Many have wondered why the Song of Solomon is in the Bible.
It looks like a passionate poem, a book of love written by an unrelenting lover. It is a commentary on intimate love. But it is also an allegory of God’s love for His people.
If you haven’t yet grasped it, the Song of Solomon will tell you how God loves you. We don’t have the right word to express that in English. Our word for “love” is too general. We love cake, and we love our grandma. But God, with a thick, endearing, all-encompassing, intimate, passionate, warm and motherly, fatherly and robust love, loves us.
Remember the story of Jesus’ temptation in the desert (Luke 4:1-13).
Satan offered Christ the riches of all the kingdoms of the world: the best this earth has to offer. In return, he wanted Jesus’ devotion to his evil schemes. With no hesitation, Jesus huffed the devil out like a light. How could He – how would anyone – trade their lover, their adored jewel, their intimate friend, their sweet companion, for stuff, for applause, for the sparkly eyes of strangers!
Jesus gave up all the wealth of Heaven, all the wealth of this the world, for You, for us, because He truly, deeply, loves us.
Thank You for Your great love for me.
Help me to grasp that You, the all-powerful, all-knowing Father, love me and care for me with a love that will never fade or die.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
