[1/30, 5:28 AM] 919063: When you worship, God feels right at home

Thursday 30th January 2020

‘You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.’ Psalm 22:3 NKJV

The place where you live is your home, or ‘habitation’. So when you praise God, you’re saying, ‘Make yourself at home, Lord.’ Where does God dwell? He has many different addresses and one of them is ‘praise’. Just as we enjoy a deeper level of intimacy with those we share our lives with at home, praise creates a sense of intimacy between God and us. Just as words spoken in love and appreciation draw two people together, words of praise draw you closer to God.

The New King James Bible says, ‘You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel’ (Psalm 22:3 NKJV). Note the word ‘enthroned’. The Japanese have a wonderful way of translating this. Recalling how their emperor was once carried on a throne and those around him would stop and bow down, they say, ‘When we worship God we create a seat, and he comes down and sits in it.’

Five times in two back-to-back Scriptures we are commanded to ‘sing praises’ to God. ‘Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding’ (Psalm 47:6-7 NKJV). When God repeats the same thing five times in two verses, it’s because he wants to be sure you get the message. You say, ‘But I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket.’ Listen to a praise song and hum along. The psalmist wrote, ‘Because your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. Thus I will bless you while I live; I will lift up my hands in your name’ (Psalm 63:3-4 NKJV).

SCRIPTURE: Who is he that saith,”and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? Lamentations 3″:37

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Nothing paralyzes satanic agenda like the power of God.

Sometime ago,”I heard the testimony of a rich man in Cotonou, Benin Republic. This man was so diabolical that he had a personal native doctor (Babalawo).  But one day he had an encounter and ran to our church in Benin Republic to surrender his life to Jesus Christ. His native doctor, knowing what had happened in the spirit confronted him physically and threatened to kill him within three days if he failed to return to his shrine. So,out of fear the man ran to our location pastor and said to him, ‘Pastor, help me take care of my family when I die.’

However, the Pastor told him”: ‘No way! You are not going to die. Get on your knees.’ He anointed him and brutally declared,”‘By the vengeance mantle of God at work on the life of my father, Dr Paul Enenche, I decree that the same three days the native doctor gave you to die, he shall be the one to die.’  Brethren, on the exact third day, the native doctor became history – he died! That was the manifestation of Power that surpasses power. The Power of God is above all other powers on the earth.

Beloved, the Power of God is superior to any power on earth. Nothing paralyzes satanic agenda like the power of God.All other powers can fail but the power of God cannot fail.

Today, I prophesy to you, the Power of God shall answer for you, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS”: Nothing paralyzes satanic agenda like the power of God.

1. Surrender completely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ for your salvation and safety.

2. Reject any alternative to God or the Power of God; it is a trap of destruction.

3. Take cover under the prophetic cover God has placed over you for your preservation.

PRAYER: Lord,”I decree that no power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me out of Your Hand. I stand on the Power of Christ for the preservation of my life and destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. IJohn 5:3

READ: 1John 5:1-3

1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

There is a popular saying that the friend of my friend is my friend. If God is your friend, then you would love anyone or anything He loves. For example, God loves children. He likes having them around Him (Matthew 19:14) and He ensures that their angels stand face to face with Him (Matthew 18:10). I hope you love children too, because if you are always mean to children or you are indifferent when others are mean to them, then you cannot claim to love God.

So what are the things God loves? He loves fellowship. When Jesus was to start His ministry on earth, one of the first things He did was to appoint disciples to keep Him company (Mark 3:14-19). He said whenever two or three are gathered in His name, He will be present (Matthew 18:20). He loves it when we come together to fellowship. Are you excited when it is time to fellowship or are you reluctant to spend time with the brethren? One reason God loved David is found in Psalm 122:1:

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

He was always excited to attend Church meetings. Are you excited whenever it is time to go to Church? Are you one of those the Pastor has to follow-up closely before they are seen in Church? Make out time to enjoy fellowship with the brethren from today; God loves it.
God also loves all human beings dearly. He sent His only son to die for the world-not just the Jews or Christians alone. Some people forget that their house help is also amongst the people that Jesus came to die for so much that He died for him/her. Jesus said that the second greatest commandment after loving God is to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31). Have you seen people in the scenarios described in Matthew 25:42-43 and ignored them?

If you truly love God, then you would love people around you.

In Matthew 25:41-46, we see that people were thrown into hell simply because they did not love who God loves. Love everything and everyone He loves.

1. I am thine, O Lord, I have heard thy voice,
and it told thy love to me;
but I long to rise in the arms of faith
and be closer drawn to thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
to the cross where thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
to thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to thy service, Lord,
by the power of grace divine;
let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
and my will be lost in thine.

3. O the pure delight of a single hour
that before thy throne I spend,
when I kneel in prayer, and with thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
till I cross the narrow sea;
there are heights of joy that I may not reach
till I rest in peace with thee.

TEXT: *ISAIAH 6:9-13*

KEY VERSE: _*“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not”*_ (ISAIAH 6:9).

The late Martin Luther King Jr. observed that, “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity”. This thought comes to mind as we watch the mad throng of people striving to outpace one another in their open rebellion against God. Among them are very educated, highly placed people and even religious folks who one would have thought would perceive the absurdities in all these.

This situation is like the experience of the Jews in Prophet Isaiah’s day. They were in a state of backsliding, having shun divine entreaties and warnings from the prophets. Rather than profit them, Isaiah’s fresh prophecies only helped to harden them the more – they had primed their eyes, ears and hearts to discountenance God and His word.
Today, we face a similar situation. The world is fast drifting into spiritual and moral darkness that, a few decades ago, would have been considered unimaginable. It is amazing to see that in spite of the progress the world has made in every other field of human endeavour, more and more people are settling for a life of wilful ignorance when it comes to godliness.

Their conscience is truly seared with a hot iron. That is why they do not see the absurdity of indulging in and even promoting abominable perversions and a culture of death. It is even more disheartening to see religious professors blatantly contradicting God’s word in a bid to please the world.

It is a major and dangerous handicap to hear God’s word and not understand, and see signs of the endtime and not perceive. It is your responsibility to ensure that you develop and maintain a right relationship with God. By all means, avoid hardening your heart against God’s word.

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY*: It is dangerous to give up godliness; it is damning to be given up by God.

“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15

When it comes to bearing fruits, patience is required. Patience is a virtue of the Spirit. It is a seal of accomplishment. There is no greatness without patience. Instant success is the master key to frustration, a common attribute in African leaders. When you add active patience to anything, that thing must work. Frustration is in view when you lack patience. Nothing will develop your character like patience. If you are impatient, you will have problems in every other area of life. To embrace patience is to end frustration. You need to always remember that if you are not in your manifestation, you are in the place of preparation, which would eventually determine your manifestation.

It is very common to see a lot of people who overestimate what they can achieve in a year and underestimate what they can achieve in a decade. You can achieve anything with the appropriate time frame. Patience is the ability to appropriate time to goals and desires with unwavering faith. Any dream that is broken into smaller pieces and spread over a period of time will be achieved. There is nothing as powerful as long term planning and thinking; with ‘active’ patience, you can achieve the dreams of your heart for the next decade. Be ‘actively’ patient.

Dear Father, help me run with active patience as I journey; I overcome all forms of frustration caused by impatience; thank You LORD, in Jesus’ Name!

Frustration is in view when you lack patience.
