And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1

READ: Luke 18:1-18

1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Persistence is a major mark that sets great achievers apart. While most people give up on their dreams along the way, the persistent keeps going until all goals are accomplished. Jesus Himself said the persistent always get what they want (Luke 18:1-9). It is not enough to pray; do so until something happens.

When others get breakthroughs, before you feel frustrated or jealous, why not take time to know how long they have been trying before they became successful?

During one of the Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp. I waved my hands as I stood on the altar. As I did. Miracles started to happen. It id possible for some Pastors who saw that happen to wonder “Why can’t I also wave and have miracles happen?” but they may not know that before that day, I had been praying for the manifestation for about fifteen year- that miracles should happen just at the wave of my hands. John 16:24 says ask, that your joy may be full. I prayed for fifteen years. That is persistence.

Don’t get tired of hitting hard spot with your drops of water. You may just be at the edge of your breakthrough. Sometimes, it may appear that nothing is happening yet despite the promises of God. The truth however, is that a lot is actually happening on the inside and soon it will manifest in the open. God’s method is:

“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:” Isaiah 28:10

God nurtures little things to greatness through a process. Don’t despise your days of little beginnings (Zechariah 4:10); greatness is coming if you persist- in prayers, hard work, sowing seeds, working on your marriage, and in attaining that great height. As long as you are sure you are working in God’s will, persist. You will succeed because determined and focused people always get what they want.

Don’t give up, your breakthrough is around the corner.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 3-4

1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

2. May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

4. When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!

*Text: “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter” Heb 11:24*

*Leaving all behind for the purpose of pleasing God –* We cannot really step into God’s destiny for our lives when there are people and things still competing with God’s place in our lives. God is a jealous God; He will either have all of you or none of you. God is not interested in 95% or 98% of you. He wants all of you. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Matt 22:37.

*Faith is not just a means of getting what we want. It’s also a means of leaving some things behind.* Moses had all the privilege and provisions of Egypt but at a point in his life he knew that God had a different plan for him. He also realised that the life in Egypt was contrary to the kind of life God wanted him to live. By faith he had to leave all that behind. There were serious consequence to this but he took that step of faith. He also made up his mind not to identify with the Pharaoh’s daughter any more. He lost an earthly identity to pick up a divine identity. If he had stayed in Egypt he would have lost Go’s ultimate plan for him.
Apostle Paul came into the faith with so many accolades to his credit, but he realised that none of them was good enough compared to the knowledge of Christ. He left all behind just to embrace God’s ultimate program for his life. This is one of the reasons why God used him so mightily.
The scriptures talking about Moses said *”Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt…”* Paul said *“…Count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ…”*

What are you willing to give up for the purpose of pleasing God?

I give up the pleasures of this world. I give up everything competing with God in my life.

SCRIPTURE: And when they had prayed,”the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. Acts 4″:31

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The arrival of faith is the departure of fear.

From our previous study on fearlessness,”it can be confirmed that fear is the weapon the devil uses to cripple his victims before he attacks them. So, it is important to know how to conquer fear. And today, we are looking at the therapies for fear.

1. The Word of God (Light or revelation from God’s Word). The Word of God is a therapy for fear. That is why Romans 10″:17 says:

So then faith cometh by hearing,”and hearing by the word of God.

The truth is, when faith comes, fear leaves; the arrival of faith is the departure of fear. The Voice of God, the Word of God kills fear and brings strength (Daniel 10″:19).

2. The Spirit of God (2 Timothy 1:6,”7)

The Spirit of God is the Spirit of audacity (Acts 4″:31). When you pray abundantly in the Spirit,”there are roots of fear that are destroyed and audacity will immediately spark up in you.

3. The guidance or revelations of the Spirit (Psalm 23″:1,”4).

Guidance from the Lord delivers people from fear. We see this confirmed by Psalm 85″:8:

I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace (not fear).

One vision or revelation of the night from God can guarantee your peace.

Sometime ago,”I saw in a revelation of the night where I was surrounded by people who were trying to harm themselves, not me. And as I was about to rush at them, I saw a man who told me to step aside and give him chance; and I stood aside, he lifted his hand once or twice against those people and all of them were on the floor. I looked at him and asked, who are you sir? He said, I am the angel sent to fight your battles.

Now, I apply for the release of the cherubim, the fighter company of angels, the Angel Michael Company, to go on assignment now, and bury en masse every devil against your life, destiny and family in Jesus’ Name!

REMEMBER THIS”: The arrival of faith is the departure of fear.

1. Pick up MP3 or DVDs containing fear-destroying messages; listen to them and be charged up,”and if there is any fear in you, it will die.

2. Pick up the Tongues of fire by Dr Paul Enenche, listen to them and pray along; you will be lionized

PRAYER: Lord,”I receive the grace to study Your Word. Cause Your Word to dwell richly in me and destroy every trace of fear in me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
