[3/12, 2:12 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Today’s SOD – 2020-03-12

SCRIPTURE: Bless the Lord,”O my soul”: and all that is within me,”bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”: Psalms 103:1-2. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The more grateful you are,”the more you will have things to be grateful for. It has been established that the only debt man owes God for eternity is the debt of thanksgiving. It is a debt that we can never finish paying. There is no amount of sacrifice you can offer to God that can move Him. Praise is the highest level of gift you can give to God. When you sow the seed of gratitude, there is increase on every side (Psalm 67″:3). Praise and thanksgiving are the secrets of deliverance. When we praise God,”the earth releases its increase. Please, note”: 1. The attitude of gratitude is the greatest attitude on earth.  The attitude of gratitude is the secret of greatness both in the earth and in the world to come.   2. The more thankful you are,”the more you will have what to be thankful for. Appreciation to God brings multiplication; it is the secret of appreciation in life.   Now, what do you show gratitude to God for? 1. Show gratitude for the gift of the people in your life.  Thank God for sending the right people to your life.   2. Show gratitude to God for spiritual provisions. Show gratitude to God for sending His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins.   3. Show gratitude to God for physical provisions, privileges and opportunities.  Show gratitude to God for the gift of life, health and privileges. You know, until a person is grateful, that person’s life will remain grounded.   4. Show gratitude to God for daily favours and mercies.  When you are a grateful person, you are literally on the lookout for anything to thank God for. And the more grateful you are, the more you will have things to be grateful for.   As you praise God effortlessly from now on, the earth shall release to you all that belongs to you, in Jesus’ Name. REMEMBER THIS”: The more grateful you are,”the more you will have things to be grateful for. ASSIGNMENTS”: 1. Praise God even when it looks like there is nothing to praise Him for. 2. Make a daily list of the Blessings of God in your life and begin to praise Him for them. PRAYER: O Lord,”thank You for a new mantle of praise and worship upon my life. I praise You now, and I will praise You forever, Lord in Jesus’ Name. FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE”: THE SEED OF GRATITUDE QUOTE: Your positive bold step is your key to distinction. Culled from 8 UNBEATABLE PRINCIPLES OF DESPERATE PEOPLE FOR WINNING IN DESPERATE TIMES DAILY READING: 1 Kings 14-16. AMAZING FACT: The Bible is the only Book that has been translated into more than 3,”300 languages, covering nearly 95 percent of the world’s population. PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD”: The increase of the earth is yours in this season as you move unto a new wavelength of gratitude in Jesus’ Name.

[3/12, 4:38 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Never compromise your character

Thursday 12th March 2020

‘Buy the truth, and do not sell it.’ Proverbs 23:23 NKJV

In the early 1970s, the Iraqi government arrested a group of American students on trumped-up espionage charges. In order to elicit admissions of guilt, they tortured them. They were told that if they confessed they were spies, they would go free. In other words: ‘Compromise the truth – admit to a lie.’ One by one, as the pressures and the pain mounted, they all confessed to crimes they had not committed – except for one student. The torture intensified and the loneliness of isolation became unbearable, and he came close to breaking. But he didn’t. Finally they announced that they were finished with his case, and that he could simply confess or die. A confession lay before him as they raised a pistol to his head, cocked the hammer and started the countdown. He had heard executions from his cell and knew what his captors were capable of. ‘Sign your name,’ he was told, ‘and you will live,’ but he refused. He closed his eyes, grimaced and prepared to die. They pulled the trigger. When he heard the click, he thought he was dead. The gun, however, had not been loaded. The student was eventually released, but he discovered afterward that every other prisoner who had confessed was hanged in the public square. He was the only survivor. That day he learned a valuable lesson about facing tough times: compromise represents a far greater risk than courage.

So the threefold word for you today is: (1) It is always right to do right. (2) It is never wrong to do right. (3) It is never right to do wrong.

[3/12, 5:56 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. Mark 3:27

READ: Luke 9:1-6

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

It is unfortunate that many people go on evangelism without any preparation. They take secular assignments more seriously than the one most important to God. There are certain things you need to do before you go out on evangelism in order for it not to become a futile exercise.

First, you must ensure that you spend quality time in prayers, soaking in the Holy spirit. Jesus told His disciples in Luke 24:49:

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”

After intense prayers and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, when you speak to sinners, your words will come out like fire and many souls will be won to Christ like it happened for Peter on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:41). During this period of intimacy with God, boldness to preach is developed. Peter was a very timid man; he even denied knowing Jesus when a young girl identified him as His disciple (Matthew 26:69-74), but after spending time in the upper room, he was facing rulers of the land and telling them boldly that he would not stop preaching the gospel (Acts 4:8-13).
Today’s memory verse says:

“No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.”

Evangelism is a spiritual battle. The devil is the strong man referred to in the passage above. If you would rescue the sinner out of the strong man’s bondage, you must first bind him- bind that demon that has kept that fellow or community in captivity first, then frustrate all their activities and plans to keep the person or community captive for life. That way, the coast would be clear for you to rescue them from the hands of the devil.

The Holy Spirit is the One who convicts sinner; if you would win souls, then you must be filled with Him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 5-7

1. Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.

o Refrain:
Nearer to Thee!

2. Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God, to Thee.

3. There let the way appear, steps unto Heav’n;
All that Thou sendest me, in mercy giv’n;
Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee.

4. Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;
So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee.

5. Or, if on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I’ll fly,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.

6. There in my Father’s home, safe and at rest,
There in my Savior’s love, perfectly blest;
Age after age to be nearer, my God, to Thee.
