[3/27, 7:07 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

READ: John 15:3-7

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

When you ask someone to introduce him or herself, you want the surname, first name and so on. In the above passage, Jesus introduced Himself as the Vine and His Father is the Husbandman. He went on to say in verse two that His children are the branches. At other times, Jesus introduced Himself as the Door, Lamb, Way, Truth, Life, Resurrection, Alpha, Omega and so on. As strange as these illustrations may seem, they carry the true picture of who He is.

He is the Vine and we are His branches; therefore, we are an extension of Him. If you open up a vine and you open up a branch, you would find the same thing in both of the; one is only bigger. That is why Jesus said in John 9:5 that He is the light of the world and then said in Matthew 5:14 that we are the light of the of the world; this simply means that we bear the light of Jesus. 1 John 4:17 tells us that as He is, so are we in this world. In Romans 8:16-17, we are called join heirs with Christ. This means that we are His brothers, this the same genes that are in Him are in us also. Ephesians 2:6 says we are seated together in heavenly places. In Acts 4:13, people saw Peter and John speak and they recognize Jesus in them. All these scriptures make one thing clear; as long as you are a child of God, you are to resemble your Father.

But then, how come we have so many ‘Christians’ who don’t resemble Christ? The answer is in our memory verse for today- they do not behold His glory. If you immerse yourself in God’s presence everyday- studying your Bible and praying, you will begin to resemble Him as the days go by. When a man and a woman have been married a few years, they begin to look, sound and even think alike. That is because they have been spending time together for long. Who you spend time with determine who you become. You want to truly resemble Jesus? Spend time with Him daily.

Can anyone take a look at you and say you resemble Jesus Christ in your words and actions?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 19-21

1. I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

2. Tho’ none go with me, I still will follow,
Tho’ none go with me I still will follow,
Tho’ none go with me, I still will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

3. My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry till I see Jesus,
My cross I’ll carry till I see Jesus;
No turning back, No turning back.

4. The world behind me, the cross before me,
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

*Be Fervent in Spirit*

_Jude 7:17-20 (GNB)_
_But remember; my friends, what you were told in the past by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “When the last days come, people will appear who will make fun of you, people who follow their own godless deares.” These are the people who cause divisions, who are controlled by their natural desires, who do not have the Spirit. But you, my friends, keep on building yourselves up on your most sacred faith. Pray m the power of the Holy._

There are two parallels that are occurring in these last days. Gross darkness is covering the people of the earth and God’s light and glory is increasing upon the people of God, Isa. 60:1-2. lniquity is abounding and the love of many are growing cold (Matt. 24:12). However, God’s mountain is being exalted and many nations are flowing into it, seeking the knowledge of God’s ways and to walk in His path, lsa. 2:2. As evil and carnality increase, righteousness and spirituality are also increasing. What side do you belong? Those who choose to remain carnal, intentionally cut themselves out of God’s life, while those who choose to remain spiritually minded are connecting more with God’s life and peace, Rom. 8:5,-6.

Some people will deliberately despise spiritual things in order to discourage us from growing in our spirituality. Because of their carnal mind, they do not understand the things of God because these things are spiritually discerned, 1 Cor. 2:14. The eyes of such people have been blinded by the god and the things of this world, 2 Cor. 4:4. They have made their appetites their god, they only think of earthly things and they are heading for destruction, Phil. 3:19. Child of God, being spiritual is not about being spooky, religious, sin conscious, superstitious or suspicious of people. It is about being like Christ. It is about being strong in the revelation of Christ and being consumed by the passion of Christ. It is about valuing God’s Word, prayer and the things of God. It is about seeing people and things the way God sees them. It is about loving righteousness and hating iniquity. It is about having the love of God burning strong in our hearts. It is about being strong in the grace of Jesus.

Faith Declaration: I am fervent in spirit. I love righteousness and I hate iniquity. I am like Christ and I am passionate about the things of God.

[3/27, 7:23 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: WISDOM FOR THE DAY
Friday, 27th March, 2020

”…But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Proverbs 4:18 (KJV)

I come your way today to remind you that the Christian life is progressive. It is from Grace to Grace and from Glory to Glory. Whatever testimonies you may have had thus far is nothing compared to what God is yet to do in your life. Your present situation may not look like it, but I challenge you to believe God for the best. Often times, when believers take a look at their lives, they are tempted to judge themselves from the perspective of the world.

The result is that they lay the cards on the table and begin to compare themselves with others.
Beloved, while it is okay to aspire to greater heights, you need to understand, however, that God deals with and sees you differently from those in the world. One day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are but like a day in His sight. This means that God is not controlled by time. He does not live in time. You are the one that lives in time and so certain things can only happen at His own appointed time. You must, therefore, walk with the mentality of a person who knows that all things are working together for good to them who love God and are called according to His purpose. Do not fret! It can only get better for you.

God’s Word is not void of power. The truth is that there is a glory that God has prepared for you and I declare that you will partake of it in Jesus name. I know that you may still have certain unanswered questions in your heart about why this and that thing has not happened yet but I have come to remind you that the God you serve is still faithful, just and righteous. He will make it happen for you.

Never Yield To Fear; Keep Believing

But Jesus refused to listen to what they were told[n] and said to the Jewish official, “Don’t yield to fear. All you need to do is to keep on believing.” Mark 5:36 TPT

I strongly believe this is such a time that many believers need to be told never to give in to fear. The level of unrest in the world now is so alarming because of the pandemic virus. But what many do not know is that the very thing Satan the wicked wanted is the exact thing that is happening: fear and unrest. It has been discovered that many a report that is trending about the pandemic is such that is instilling fear in people thereby causing pandemonium every where. This is not the time to yield to fear at all. You heard me right! This is not the time to yield to fear. In fact fear has never found any place in me. Fear has no place in the lives of believers. We are born of God and fear is not in the DNA of our Heavenly Father; only faith that is in our DNA.

I am not saying you should not follow every precautionary measure put in place to prevent the viral infection. You should please; but not out fear but out of wisdom and discretion. The Bible says Wisdom is profitable to direct (Ecc10:10). The truth is, no matter what is happening; no matter how complicated and severe the challenge, no matter how highly contagious the pandemic, fear will never help you. Fear has never helped anyone, it will only hurt you by predisposing you to the very thing you dread and complicate the issues more for you. Fear is never a friend. Do you remember the case of Peter who was walking on water to meet Jesus, the Bible says when the wind became boisterous Peter gave in to fear and he shifted his gaze from Jesus. At that point he started to sink(Matt 14:30). That is the danger of fear. It will make you take your focus off Jesus and His Word and start focusing on what is happening and that’s all Satan needs to attack.

You must understand that just as God needs your faith to do His wonders is the same Satan also needs your fear to perpetrate his wickedness. Fear is to Satan what Faith is to God. Job confirmed it in the scriptures that, he was a victim of his own fear. It was his fear that brought his misfortune to his life(Job 3:25). So it is better to stand in the arena of faith than fear. Just look around and see how many people have lost their lives not to the pandemic itself but to fear. Some took drugs that they were not supposed to take and it led to their death. Fear is making people to act on unverified information and that is causing them more havoc. Anything you do out of fear will only complicate the case more for you. So you must never yield to the bait of fear.

However, this is more than what a mere decision can do. Ignorance is at the root of fear so only revelational knowledge of God’s Word will dispel fear in your heart. Fear is not something you can just wish away, you will need the light of God’s Word to conquer it. When you’re in a dark place where no light is and you cannot see, you may likely want to fear but hardly will you fear when where you are is illuminated. Darkness(ignorance) and fear and friends just like light(Revelation) and faith are friends. You will be as fearful as you’re ignorant and you will be as audacious as you are adequately lighted by the Word of God. This is why fear has no place in me and my family; we dwell in the light of God’s Word every moment of our lives. I am never out of faith because I am never out of His Word. His Word is my meditation when I’m awake and when I’m asleep. I only think and dream of His Word so whatever is not of God cannot find a place in me. Get into the Word let it saturate you and you will see yourself and your loved ones basking in sound health always. I curse the spirit of fear in your life in Jesus Name!

Father I thank You for the revelation of Your Word to me today. I curse the spirit of fear and I declare it has no place in me because I am born of God and it is faith not fear that is in my genes. From today I dwell in the arena of faith always and I am divinely shielded from every evil in Jesus Mighty Name.

You will be as fearful as you’re ignorant and you will be as audacious as you’re adequately lighted by God’s Word.
Good Morning.
