Morning devotions

[3/30, 6:30 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. Proverbs 29:1

READ: Revelation 22:11-12

11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

God is merciful. In fact, He is the Father of mercies (2 Corinthians 1:3). Romans 9:15 however tells us His mercy will not always be accessible to everyone.

This means that even though God is merciful, He still reserves the right to withhold His mercy when He wants. Don’t take His mercy for granted. If God has overlooked your wrongdoing a number of times, then I think you should know that the more He overlooks, the less time you have until your cup is full.

A woman- very sick and at the point of death, was brought to me for prayers some years ago. As I laid my hands on her, I felt the anointing flow through my hands like warm oil and when it got to her head, it bounced back. I enquired the cause of this from God and He said He had warned her several times to repent but she had refused; now it was His own turn to refuse to heal her. I ran to the altar and cried for mercy on her behalf; there was hardly any scripture on mercy that I did not quote. Then I ran back and laid hands on her head the second time; the anointing bounced back again. I ran to God pleading for mercy again, laid my hands on her the third time, yet the anointing bounced back. I tried to lay my hand on her head again but it was too late as she had given up the ghost.

In another incident, an elderly man who was the head of the occult in his village led some other cultist into a church where I was preaching. I seized the opportunity to preach the gospel to them with all my heart. When I made the altar call, the leader- the elderly man – was the first to give his life to Jesus. A few weeks later, he passed on.

The woman did not stop when she had the chance to, despite several warnings from God, and she faced the consequences. The elderly man on the other hand was wise enough to stop when he received a warning from God and he must have made it to heaven. Are you still committing one sin or the other? If you are wise, you will heed this warning now and stop it. Don’t wait until He withholds His mercy.

If you take mercy of God fror granted, a day will come when He will withhold it.

1. All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
o Refrain:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

2. All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

3. All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

4. All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

5. All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame;
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!
[3/30, 6:30 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Let God comfort you

Monday 30th March 2020

‘God is…the source of all comfort.’ 2 Corinthians 1:3 NLT

When you lose someone you love, you go through a grieving process. And God will comfort you and walk you through it. Jesus said, ‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted’ (Matthew 5:4 NIV). Grieving is the healthy way to process your emotions, to express your pain and move beyond it. Recovery doesn’t happen overnight; it happens in proportion to the size of your loss. Only small losses are healed quickly.

Zig Ziglar says: ‘The longest twenty hours of my life were those right after my daughter’s death. When making her funeral arrangements, I had to listen to a salesman who was an incessant talker, and who told me thirty times that he wasn’t a salesman. Twice I had to leave the room; I simply couldn’t handle him. The night before, half asleep and half awake, I kept thinking my daughter was wondering when her daddy was coming to get her. The next morning I took a walk, praying and crying the whole way. When I returned, the Lord spoke to me in such a distinct way: “She’s fine. She’s with me, and you’re going to be fine too. I’m all you need. Keep walking. Keep talking. Keep praying. Keep crying.”‘

Grief and loss can’t be solved, but they are experiences you don’t have to go through alone. The best-known Psalm in Scripture says, ‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me’ (Psalm 23:4 NKJV). The sun will shine again. ‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning’ (Psalm 30:5 NKJV). Your joy will return – God promises it!

[3/30, 6:30 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: WISDOM FOR THE DAY
Monday, 30th March, 2020

“Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore.”
Exodus 14:30 (KJV)

I come your way this morning to assure you that the God you serve is able to protect and uphold you in spite of all the onslaughts of the enemy against your life. As a believer, you must realize that God has not given up on you no matter what. You can afford to go to bed knowing that He will take charge of your situation. The book of Lamentations 3:22-23 says that ”It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness” (AMP).

Beloved, in these days and times, if God does not uphold you with His mighty Hand; there is no way you can come out of certain situations but thank God we have a God who does not sleep, nor slumber. The God that upheld you till now has not left you and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Indeed, it is of His mercies that you have not been consumed. God has not allowed you to become a prey to the enemy. When Pharaoh confronted God’s people with all the military might of Egypt, it was as if the end had come; but God fought for them! The same thing is true today. God will fight for you and you would hold your peace. The Egyptians you saw yesterday, you will see no more forever.

I encourage you to begin to function with a knowing that the world out there will bow to you. Evil has no choice than to bow before you and the wicked shall bow at your gates. Understand that God has already provided a Goshen for you. You are safe day and night. My God will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, from the noise-some pestilence, from the arrow that flies by day and from the destruction that wastes at noonday. Fear not! Covenant will speak for you!

[3/30, 6:31 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Today’s SOD – 2020-03-28

SCRIPTURE: And I will bless them that bless thee,”and curse him that curseth thee”: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Spirituality equals generosity,”generosity both towards God and towards man.

Yesterday, we saw the necessity of being a blessing. Today, we shall be looking at the various ways and channels where we can effectively be a blessing to our generation.

Now, how can we be a blessing to people and the world around us?

1. Through the act of giving (John 3″:16). Giving is an authentic proof of love and blessing. Every blesser is a giver both to God and man. Being a blessing means being a giver to the extent that the world would feel your impact. Spirituality equals generosity,”generosity both towards God and towards man.

2. Through prayer and intercession (Job 42″:10).

This means standing in the gap for others in prayer for Divine intervention in their lives and situations. The highest form of prayer is the prayer of intercession. Many times,”we pray for only ourselves and that is a highly self-centred existence. You cannot ask God to change someone’s life and your life remains unchanged.

3. Through your wisdom and counsel.

Your wisdom and counsel are blessings especially to young people who are about to make destiny decisions (Exodus 18″:17-19). Let your compassion fuel your instruction to them. Bless your world with your counsel.

Beloved,”be a blessing today and there is no demonic curse that can keep you down, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS”: Spirituality equals generosity,”generosity both towards God and towards man.

1. Make a conscious effort to intercede for at least one person you know.

2. Be generous towards God and towards man.

PRAYER: Lord,”I ask for the grace to be a blessing to people and the world around me, in Jesus’ Name.
