Morning Devotions

[3/31, 5:27 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Today’s SOD – 2020-03-31

SCRIPTURE: And it came to pass,”when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest. 2 Kings 4″:6-7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You may not know what to do but God always knows what to do.

Our God is a God of restoration. He is a Repairer and Restorer. He is the God Who renews. God has the capacity to move us from negative challenges to positive surprises. He knows how to work for good what the enemy meant for evil. He has the capacity to deliver beyond our desires.

In 2 Kings 4:1-7,”we saw the story of the prophet’s widow. Her husband died in debt and left a legacy of indebtedness for his family. When the creditor came and the debt could not be paid, he decided to carry the children as bondmen and the widow cried to the man of God and solution arrived.

Now, let us take note of these points”:

1. God never turns down the cries of the desperate righteous.

In case you have been crying to God for help,”get ready because your answer has come.

2. You may not know what to do but God always knows what to do.

When God showed up in the life of the widow, her children were restored.

3. There is a nearby solution to every difficult situation.

The solution to the widow’s challenge was in her house. Many of us are suffering not because we do not have it, but because we cannot see it.

Beloved, it does not matter what may have happened to you or what the enemy has stolen from you, I declare total restoration and instant recovery in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS”: You may not know what to do but God always knows what to do.

1. Take your burdens and challenges to God in prayer and believe Him for answers.

2. Never give up on God,”He is not through with you yet.

PRAYER”: Lord,”I ask for the grace to wait on You at the place of prayer. I depend on You to do for me what I cannot do for myself, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

[3/31, 5:47 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Stand up to the enemy

Tuesday 31st March 2020

‘An enemy has done this.’ Matthew 13:28 NKJV

The Bible says: ‘Another parable he put forth to them, saying: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and…when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop…the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this'”‘ (Matthew 13:24-28 NKJV).

We all need a spiritual wake-up call from time to time. Sometimes the problem we are dealing with isn’t of human origin. Jesus said, ‘While men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.’ Yes, it’s foolish to blame everything on the devil, but it’s even more foolish not to recognise when he is at work. Paul writes: ‘Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but…against the powers of this dark world and…spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground’ (Ephesians 6:11-13 NIV). He goes on to say, ‘Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one’ (Ephesians 6:16 NIV).

So the word for you today is: recognise when Satan is at work, stand up to him, and he will flee (see James 4:7)!

[3/31, 6:49 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. Proverbs 11:24

READ: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Stagnant water stinks- not necessarily because it is dirty, but because it does not share itself with others. A stream with flowing water on the other hand remains fresh and fragrant. If you are the kind of person who loves to hoard the good things you have, then you are a stagnant water. It may seem like a good idea to hoard your possessions so that you alone can enjoy them, but soon you will discover that you are stinking to everyone else around.

Many people like to hoard knowledge. The moment they know something that can impact others positively, they hide it and refuse to pass it on. Any teacher will tell you that you understand a subject better the more you teach it. This means that the more knowledge you hoard, the duller you become. If you are a student, make a point of duty to always teach your colleagues any subject that you understand and they don’t. This way, you get a better understanding of the subject and stand a better chance of exceling in it.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to be number one always. My love to be number one has spurred me to always share whatever knowledge I have. The more knowledge I share, the more I receive. This is also applicable in your office; teach others how to get things done. That is what Jesus Christ would have done if He were in your shoes. Do not think that teaching others would make them better than you. Jesus said in John 13:16:

“ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.”

As long as you don’t relax and stop learning, the people you teach cannot know more than you. As long as you are their teacher, you will keep rising higher. Every true leader long for the growth of others. If you try to inhibit the growth of those around you, they will end up rising above you and leading you, but if you actively pursue their growth, you will realize that God will raise you higher and continue to make you their leader.

Do I hoard knowledge from others? Am I a pool of stagnant water?

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus name

On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath His covenant His blood
Supports me in the ‘whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

When He shall come with trumpet sound
O may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne.

*Facing your giants part 3*

*Text*: 1 Sam 17: 45

” _Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.”_

*#Trust in God and not in his weapons #*

The second weapon David used against Goliath was his trust in God. He said to Goliath, ” I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel.” Whereas Goliath came against him with a sword, a spear and a shield, David came trusting in his God and not in his weapon. It is written, “They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” (Ps 125:1). David trusted in God and defeated his giant.

*# You can only trust God to the extent that you know Him #*

Dan 11:32 says, “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Your strength to face your giant is dependent on the God that you know. David knew God as the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel and thus trusted Him in the day of battle. Are you faced with the giant of sickness and disease? You must know Jehovah Rapha, the LORD your healer. Are you broke and impoverished? He is the LORD your Shepherd.

*Your trust in God is determined by how much you know Him.* The closer you are to God, the bigger He becomes to you and the smaller your giant will become. Rather than concentrating on the bigginess of your giant, focus on how big your God is.
Make this confession of faith, “My God is bigger than all my giants. My God is bigger than all my troubles.

[3/31, 6:49 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: *Above Only Devotional*

Tuesday, March 31

*Be a Blessing to Someone Today*

_Galatians 6:2 (NIV & LB), 1 John 3:16-17 (GNB), Romans 12:10 & 13_
_Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. *Share each other’s troubles and problems, and so obey our Lord’s command. *… Christ gave his life for us. We too, then, ought to give our lives for others! If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God? *Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love, in honour preferring one another; *Disfrtbuting to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality._

You are a channel of God’s grace and blessing unto others. You are God’s eyes, ears, hands, feet and heart. He wants to love, heal, help and touch people through you every single day. He wants to use you to bring hope and healing unto many and He wants to use you to bring many into His Kingdom and His will for their lives. God wants you and me to move from being concerned about our sustenance alone to being available to be used by Him to supply the needs of others and to be a blessing unto them. Remember that we are blessed to be a blessing. This was a major underlying principle and driving force of Jesus’ life and it should be a major principle and driving force in your life.

Meditate upon how Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38) and know that since Jesus has sent you the way the Father sent Him, you are meant to do the same. Let your greatest satisfaction come from doing God’s will and being a blessing to others, John 4:34. Meditate on how Abraham took the men of his household and they risked their lives to fight and rescue Lot when he was captured (Gen. 14:14). Meditate on how Joseph showed concern for his fellow inmates and even helped to interpret their dreams (Gen. 40:68). We don’t bear the burdens of others because we don’t have burdens of our own; we bear the burdens of others because of the love of God that we have in our hearts. Remember that what we do to the least of Christ’s flock, we do unto Him, Matt. 25:40. Ask God to reveal to you who you can help and be a blessing today. Trust me, God will lead you and use you mightily to do this. He will also bless and reward you for it, Heb. 6:10, Rev. 22:12.

Prayer Focus: Pray for anyone or family that you know desires God’s touch. Ask God to use you and other believers to be a blessing to others today.
