TOPIC: KEY FACTS ON HUMILITY

SCRIPTURE: But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith,”God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4″:6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Humility is the fuel of light,”and light is the fuel for distinction.

The Scripture makes it clear that pride is a destroyer of destiny. The destinies of satan and Vashti were destroyed by pride.  Our anchor Scripture reveals that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. The humble are effortless beneficiaries of God’s grace.

Now, let us take a look at some key thoughts on humility.

1. Humility magnetizes grace

Humble people don’t beg for grace; rather, grace rushes for them. This is because humility magnetises grace. Where your humility stops, there your grace finishes.  Whenever you lack humility, you will lack grace, and when you lack grace, you are de-graced. And when a man is de-graced, he will be disgraced. Humility is the magnet of grace and grace is the door for ease. Anyone who carries grace experiences ease.

2. Humility or meekness is the doorway for insight or light.

Humility is the doorway for insight, light or revelation (Psalms 25″:9).

There are things God shows meek people that He will not show any other person.

Moses asked God to show him His Face. But when God passed by,”He covered Moses’ face and showed Moses His back parts (Exodus 33″:23). I believe that was why Moses was able to write the Book of Genesis that gave account of creation of the world even when he was not born at that time. God didn’t show anyone the revelation of history the way He showed Moses. What gave Moses such access was humility.  If you say you cannot hear God or get His attention,”please ask Him to break every trace of arrogance in you. Humility is the fuel of light, and light is the fuel for distinction.

3. Humility is the key to leadership.

Humility puts you ahead. When you are full of self, you are empty of people. When you are full of yourself, people will leave you to yourself. If you humble yourself before people, they will follow you effortlessly. Humility is key to leadership. Humility doesn’t reduce you, rather, it increases you.

My counsel is, make the choice for humility.

Remember this”: Humility is the fuel of light. And light is the fuel of distinction.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God for the grace to humble yourself always.

2. Practice humility as a lifestyle in order to fulfil destiny.

PRAYER: Lord,”I ask for the discipline to humble myself before people. Let humility be my lifestyle always, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: When a person is resisted by the devil,”he can be assisted by God. When a person is resisted by witches, he can be assisted by God through the servants of God. But when a person is resisted by God, who can assist him? Culled from “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT”: A male and female eagle tend to stay together all their lives building nests every year in the same place.  It is fair to say,”eagles are creatures of habit.

DAILY READING”: Job 1-3

PROPHETIC WORD: Fresh light such as you have not received before is coming your way in this season in Jesus Name.

[4/26, 6:52 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Forgive them: release yourself

Sunday 26th April 2020

‘If you hold anything against anyone, forgive them.’ Mark 11:25 NIV

When someone hurts us, our natural response is to either hurt them back or hope they will suffer for what they have done to us. Yet as redeemed children of God, we know this is the wrong response. That is when we discover forgiving someone doesn’t come naturally or easily; it requires supernatural grace on our part. And where do we get that? Through prayer! Jesus said, ‘When you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in Heaven may forgive you your sins’ (Mark 11:25 NIV).

Recalling God’s grace towards you leaves you no choice but to extend that same grace towards someone who hurts you. Someone once said, ‘Forgiveness is a decision to set a prisoner free, and then discovering that the prisoner is you.’

So if you have a desire to forgive someone, get excited; the Holy Spirit has already done half the job. To complete the other half, humble yourself and pray: ‘Father, I turn from every desire I have to avenge this wrong. You saw the situation before it happened, and in your infinite wisdom you allowed it to be so. Your Word says that “all things work together for [my] good” (Romans 8:28 NKJV), so from this moment on, with the help of your Holy Spirit, I forgive them. I will not dwell on the situation but will declare your Word instead.’ That’s called ‘a prayer of release’. And you’re not just releasing your offender; you’re releasing and repositioningyourself to walk in God’s blessing. That’s why you must forgive them!

[4/26, 9:44 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: MESSAGE FROM:

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,
Lagos.

FOCUS: *Spiritual Weapons*

Ephesians 6:12-13 (KJV) *For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.*
*Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.*

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (KJV) *For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:*
*(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)*

God gave us various spiritual weapons to combat all the forces of darkness since our warfare is not carnal. We cannot use carnal instruments to face the invisible enemy. Therefore, God gave us various weapons for our defence and to launch attacks through prayer. I know many of us might be familiar with what we will be sharing but I will encourage you to open your hearts in order to access the present truth.

2 Peter 1:12 (KJV) *Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.*

In the next few days, we will be looking at these covenant instruments for our undeniable proofs. With proper understanding and usage of these weapons, answers and victory are sure.

1. *The Name of Jesus.*

The name of Jesus is a multi-faceted instrument of warfare and victory in the hand of every believer who has understanding of its usage. It is a weapon that cannot fail, expire or get outdated. We will briefly look at some of the areas of exploit.

A. *Access to the Throne of God.*

John 16:23-24 (KJV)
[23] *And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.* [24] *Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.*

The name of Jesus grants us access to the throne anytime it is used in faith. Whatever we ask the Father in Jesus name, He is not seeing it as our need but as Jesus’ needs. The Father sees us in Christ.

Colossians 3:3 (KJV)
*For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.*

Do not present your request through the name but in the name. The name of Jesus is not an accolade for ending prayer but is what qualifies us to appear before God the Father. Without the name of Jesus, you and your prayers are not known in heaven. It is our visa to access God.

John 14:6 (KJV)
*Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.*

B. *To Cast out Devils.*

Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)
[17] *And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;* [18] *They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.*

The name of Jesus is not a title or means of identification but a channel of manifestation. Signs follow whenever we engage the name in faith. It is our rod of wonders. All the demons in hell put together cannot stand the authority in the name of Jesus when we believe and rightly invoke it. Every force of darkness bows at the mention of the name of Jesus because He is the head of all principalities and power therefore, they all submit to His name.

Colossians 2:10 (KJV)
*And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:*

Philippians 2:9 (KJV)
*Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:*

C. *Rod of Defence.*

Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)
*The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.*

Whenever we call on the name, an unbeatable tower is erected around us. No arrow of the enemy can access us when the name shields us. You may ask the question, “why are some believers still being oppressed and molested when such security is available?” Well, if we take a second look at the scripture, it says the righteous run into it and are safe. This spiritual weapon must find expression through our mouth in order to be effective. Don’t be quiet again, a closed mouth is a closed destiny. Many believers are perishing today because of ignorance of what they have.

Psalm 49:20 (KJV)
*Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish*.

Psalm 78:9 (KJV)
*The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.*

D. *Rod of Offence.*

Jesus is the rod of offence. Whosoever hits Him shall be broken and whosoever He hits shall be ground into powder.

Luke 20:18 (KJV) *Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.*

Therefore, as we engage the name in faith, He takes over the situation and whosoever wants to endanger our lives will get the same result.
