SCRIPTURE: Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. Ecclesiastes 8:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

It is clear from Scriptures that the way of wisdom is the way of stardom. To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine. The wisdom of God is behind the making of kingdom stars. Joseph was a man of wisdom who was established in stardom in the land of Egypt. This same wisdom made Daniel a star in the land of Babylon.

Now, one way of reaching the place of stardom is KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE for living.

The knowledge of purpose is pathway to distinction. God began to tell Jeremiah his purpose on the earth in Jeremiah 1:5. The purpose was made clear to Jeremiah and the knowledge of that purpose made him to stand out in his world.

Please, take note of the following points :

a) The way of purpose is the way of destiny distinction.

Anyone who knows his purpose and follows that purpose can never end as a destitute in life (Daniel 1:8).

b) To follow the way of purpose is to end in the place of prominence (Proverbs 22:29). A man who is diligent in his business and life’s assignment shall stand before great men. He shall not stand before ordinary people.

c) Life’s assignment is key to life’s enhancement and uplifting.

The assignment of your life is what will produce the enhancement and uplifting for your life. This was seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 41:36-44.

My counsel is, ask God to clearly reveal to you the purpose of your life (Habakkuk 2:1). And pursue your life’s purpose with everything you have got (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

REMEMBER THIS: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

1. Ask God at the place of prayer to reveal your purpose for living to you.

2. If you have discovered your purpose, go ahead and fulfil it on time.

PRAYER : O Lord, I ask for the wisdom to know my purpose for living and to carry it out without delay, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

[5/25, 6:31 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: MESSAGE FROM:

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

FOCUS: *Obedience In Times of Conflict*

We walk under many authorities in life such as family, government, office, community, church, association etc. Each of these organisations tend to have authority or influence over us. Sometimes, they issue instructions that are contrary to our faith and belief. In such situation, we are left to make choice and in the course of doing this, our allegiance to God must be total.

Acts 5:29 (KJV)
*Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.*

Do not compromise your faith in the course of your secular work. Let us emulate the Hebrew midwives who turned down the unlawful law of Pharoah, the king of Egypt to kill all the male children born of Hebrews. In those days, Egypt was the most powerful nation in the world and no one dared to disobey Pharoah but because the law was contrary to the will of God, these women refused to carry out the king’s order.

Exodus 1:17 (KJV)
*But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.*

God greatly rewarded them by building houses (family) for them. Every act of obedience to God’s will attracts great reward.

*Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.*

They decided to obey God than to obey an earthly authority. Even when their lives were at stake or in danger, they refused to disobey the law of their God.

*See Daniel 3:10-16.*

If you refuse to bow down, you will not be burnt; because they obeyed the Lord their God, the name of the Lord was greatly honoured in the land.

Daniel 3:28 (KJV)
*Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.*

If you continue to obey God and refuse to compromise your faith, God Himself who rules in the affairs of men will lift you up beyond your imagination.

Daniel 3:30 (KJV)
*Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.*

From time to time, your faith and beliefs might come under severe attack. Please don’t bow down. Some people can do anything to get what they want in life. Never consider other alternatives to God. Put your total trust in the Lord.

Daniel refused to allow an earthly king’s decree to affect his prayer life and his sound relationship with his God, and the lions could not eat him. If you stand in God’s will, He will equally stand by you always.

*See Daniel 6:7, 10-11* (KJV)

Many of our traditional beliefs and laws are actually works of men. It will surprise you that many of them were worshippers of the devil. Obeying certain traditional laws is pledging allegiance to the devil. We must never deny the name of the Lord and His words.

See below some of the uncommon reward waiting for us in this world and in eternity if we refuse to deny His name:

Revelation 3:8, 10 (KJV)
[8] *I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.*
[10] *Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.*

1. Thank you my Lord for the new and beautiful day you have made.

2. Thank you Father for the multitude of your mercies upon my life.

3. 2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
*Now thanks be unto God, which causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.*

Thank you my Lord for giving us victory over all the works of the enemy.

4. Thank you my God for gradually opening the gates of churches world wide.

5. Acts 4:29 (KJV)
*And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,*

Father, grant me boldness and grace never to compromise my faith in the mighty name of Jesus!

6. O Lord my Father, grant me boldness to stand for the truth and to speak it always in the mighty name of Jesus!

7. Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
*And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord , choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.*

O Lord my God, empower me to always make right choices in the face of any conflict in Jesus mighty name!

8. Isaiah 45:2 (KJV)
*I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:*

O Lord my God, go before me into the new week and make my way straight in Jesus mighty name!

9. O Lord, let no evil befall me and my household in the mighty name of Jesus!

10. Psalms 140:1, 4 (KJV)
[1] *Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;*
[4] *Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.*

O Lord my Father, keep me from the wickedness of men. Do not allow them to overthrow my goings in Jesus mighty name!

11. Numbers 10:33 (KJV)
*…and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.*

O Lord my Father, let your presence go before and grant me rest on every side in Jesus mighty name!

12. 1 Samuel 12:6 (KJV) *And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.*

O Lord my Father, advance my life, career, ministry.

O Lord advance me beyond imagination in Jesus mighty name!

13. Exodus 23:20 (NLT) *See, I am sending my angel before you to lead you safely to the land I have prepared for you.*

O Lord my God, release your angels to take me to my place of blessings in Jesus mighty name!

14. Proverbs 10:24 (KJV)
*The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.*

i..O Lord, Father of mercy, grant me my heart desire this week in Jesus mighty name!

ii. O Lord my Father, grant me my heart desire over my children and family in Jesus mighty name!

15. Isaiah 11:9 (KJV)
*They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord , as the waters cover the sea.*

O Lord my Father let your word continue to grow in my life as water covers the sea in Jesus mighty name!

Thank you for working exceedingly and abundantly above all that I ask or think.

Thank you Father for uncommon results and answers.

Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!

See you tomorrow,
Rejoice always.
Philippians 4:4(KJV) *Rejoice in the Lord: and again I say, Rejoice.*

[5/25, 6:31 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1

READ: 1 John 3:4-10

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

God warns His children to be aware of the several roadblocks on their journey to the promised land. Chief among these is the devil. He puts obstacles in our path so we can reject the ways of the Lord (1 Peter 5:7-9). He uses sin as a weapon of destruction knowing fully well that no unclean thing shall enter into the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21:27).

Seeing these obvious threats to the success of our pilgrimage, God always provides an escape route for us (1 Corinthians 10:13).

In today’s Bible reading, John describes sin as a transgression of the law. It is definitely not a Christian virtue. As a matter of fact, sinner belong to the devil because he has been sinning from the beginning (1 John 3:8).

The whole duty of Satan is to lure people into disobedience against God, thus truncating their journey to eternal life. He told Adam and Eve that eating the forbidden fruit would not affect their relationship with God. Eventually, they were sent from the blissful garden of Eden (Genesis 3). Today, he has introduced the concept of ‘non-essentials’ to the Christian faith. For instance, the devil convinces people that a sip of alcohol once in a while does not matter, and that premarital sex is not bad as long as the couple would eventually marry each other, without regard for Hebrews 13:4! What about lies? Many ‘Christians’ now lie with impunity and it is termed ‘white’ lies. These are very little foxes that destroy the vine of faith. This is a timely warning for Christian pilgrim to guard against seemingly insignificant habits that can exclude one from the hope of eternal life.

Examine your life for socially acceptable behaviors that are not Christ-like. They could deny you of eternal life ultimately. Do away with them all immediately.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 131, 138-139, 143-145.

1. Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh.

o Refrain:
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still;
Wave the answer back to Heaven, “By Thy grace we will.”

2. See the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on;
Mighty ones around us falling, courage almost gone!

3. See the glorious banner waving! Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s Name we triumph over every foe.

4. Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near;
Onward comes our great Commander, cheer, my comrades, cheer!
