[7/24, 7:23 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: *LIFE AND FAVOUR*

*OBEDIENCE IN TIMES OF CONFLICT*
We walk under many authorities in life such as family, government, office, community, church, association etc. Each of these organisations tend to have authority or influence over us. Sometimes, they issue instructions that are contrary to our faith and belief. In such situation, we are left to make choice and in the course of doing this, our allegiance to God must be total.
Acts 5:29 (KJV)
*Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.*
Do not compromise your faith in the course of your secular work. Let us emulate the Hebrew midwives who turned down the ungodly law of Pharoah, the king of Egypt to kill all the male children born of Hebrews. In those days, Egypt was the most powerful nation in the world and no one dared to disobey Pharoah but because the law was contrary to the will of God, these women refused to carry out the king’s order.
Exodus 1:17 (KJV)
*But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.*
God greatly rewarded them by building houses (family) for them. Every act of obedience to God’s will attracts great reward.
*Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.*
They decided to obey God rather than earthly authority. Even when their lives were at stake or in danger, they refused to disobey the law of their God.
*See Daniel 3:10-16.*
If you refuse to bow down, you will not be burnt; because they obeyed the Lord their God, the name of the Lord was greatly honoured in the land.
Daniel 3:28 (KJV)
*Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.*
If you continue to obey God and refuse to compromise your faith, God who rules in the affairs of men will lift you up beyond your imagination.
Daniel 3:30 (KJV)
*Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.*
From time to time, your faith and beliefs might come under severe attack. Please don’t bow down. Some people can do anything to get what they want in life. Never consider other alternatives to God. Put your total trust in the Lord.
Daniel refused to allow an earthly king’s decree to affect his prayer life and his sound relationship with his God, and the lions could not eat him. If you stand in God’s will, He will equally stand by you always.
*See Daniel 6:7, 10-11* (KJV)
Many of our traditional beliefs and laws are actually works of men. It will surprise you that many of them were worshippers of the devil. Obeying certain traditional laws is pledging allegiance to the devil. We must never deny the name of the Lord and His words.
See below some of the uncommon reward waiting for us in this world and in eternity if we refuse to deny His name:
Revelation 3:8, 10 (KJV)
*I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.*
*Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.*
> Thank you my Lord for the new and beautiful day you have made.
> Thank you Father for the multitude of your mercies upon my life.
> Thank you my father for protecting my family against all the wickedness of the devil.
> Thank you my father for joy and the privilege of knowing you.
1. Acts 4:29 (KJV)
*And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,*
i. Father, grant me boldness and grace never to compromise my faith in the mighty name of Jesus!
ii. O Lord my Father, grant me boldness to stand for the truth and to speak it always in the mighty name of Jesus!
2. Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
*And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord , choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.*
O Lord my God, empower me to always make right choices in the face of any conflict in Jesus mighty name!
3. 2 Corinthians 5:15 (KJV) *And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.*
O Lord my God, empower me to be totally committed to your purpose in the mighty name of Jesus !
4.1 Peter 4:2 (KJV) *That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.*
O Lord my Father, let your will become my will from this day in the mighty name of Jesus!
5. Isaiah 45:2 (KJV)
*I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:*
i. O Lord my God, go before me and make my way straight in life in Jesus mighty name!
ii. O Lord, let no evil befall me and my household in the mighty name of Jesus!
6. Psalms 140:1, 4 (KJV)
*Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;*
*Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.*
O Lord my Father, keep me from the wickedness of men. Do not allow them to overthrow my goings in Jesus mighty name!
7. Exodus 23:20 (NLT) *See, I am sending my angel before you to lead you safely to the land I have prepared for you.*
O Lord my God, release your angels to take me to my place of blessings in Jesus mighty name!
8. Proverbs 10:24 (KJV)
*The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.*
i..O Lord, Father of mercy, grant me my heart desire in life in Jesus mighty name!
ii. O Lord my Father, grant me my heart desire over my children and family in Jesus mighty name!
9. Isaiah 11:9 (KJV)
*They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.*
O Lord my Father, let your word continue to grow in my life as water covers the sea in Jesus mighty name!
10. Job 9:10 (KJV) *Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.*
O Lord my God, let my life and family be an expression of your glory and wonders in Jesus mighty name!
11. Deuteronomy 8:9 (KJV) *A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.*
O Lord my God, let the remaining part of this year be a season of supernatural abundance for me in the mighty name of Jesus!
Thank you for working exceedingly and abundantly above all that I ask or think.
Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!
See you tomorrow.
*Pray without ceasing.*

THEME: DANGERS OF BACKSLIDING.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
READ: 2 Peter 2:20-22
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Our God is a builder- He builds lives, and He has a plan for every single person here on earth. Jeremiah 29:11 says:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
The moment someone surrenders his life to Christ, He begins to build that fellow into something great. However, every time the fellow backslides, the building will be affected. I also like to use the analogy of a sculptor for this. A sculptor may decide to carve a lion out of a piece of wood but find it uncooperative, breaking easily, and thus decide to carve a cat from what is left of it. If at some point while sculpting, the piece of wood breaks again, the sculptor may then decide to make a rat with what is left of the wood. If the wood breaks yet such that it cannot be salvaged, sculptor could turn it to firewood.
Every time you backslide, you frustrate the ultimate plan of God for your life.
Each time a person falls out of the faith, they are just like that piece of wood that keeps breaking. When they get back on their feet, God may decide to continue with what is left, but believe me, except by divine mercy, they cannot be what He originally planned for them. God’s original plan for Samson was that he would deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines and then be their leader, but he didn’t fulfil destiny. Gehazi could have become a greater prophet than Elisha, but he ended up with leprosy. Backsliding can cost you your destiny; beware.
The main danger of backsliding is being thrown into hell fire. Some people get the chance to stand again after backsliding, but not everyone does. Judas Iscariot had been falling and rising while he was Jesus’ treasurer (John 12:6), but one day he fell and never had a chance to rise again. It is a disaster for anyone who has had an encounter with Christ to still end up in hell.
Father, let me never do anything that can make me fall short of Your glory in the mighty name Jesus.

HYMN 5: DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS.
1. Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.
Oh, deeper yet, I pray,
And higher every day,
And wiser, blessed Lord,
In Thy precious, holy Word.
2. Deeper, deeper, blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus,
And His perfect will.
3. Deeper, deeper! though it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.
4. Deeper, higher, every day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqu’ror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.
5. Deeper, deeper in the faith of Jesus,
Holy faith and true;
In His pow’r and soul exulting wisdom
Let me peace pursue.
[7/24, 7:23 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: *INSPIRATION*
(Giving direction to your day)
Friday 24th July, 2020
*Text: “Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.” Phil 3:8*
Apostle Paul who was once called Saul initially had so much value for the Jewish religion. He had so much to his credit. He was born from the best family in Judaism. He had the best education of his day. He went about with so much passion to deal with Christians. That was an uncontrollable passion for him. In the midst of this he had an encounter with God. This encounter was not just a theoretical encounter; it was clearly visible in the changes that took place in his life.
Paul said “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.” (Phil 3:7). His sense of judgment changed as soon as he had an encounter with Christ. His value system also changed. Our passion in life is a function of what is dear and valuable to us. When your sense of value is wrong then your passion in life will also be wrong. His passion was purified by an encounter with Jesus. The scripture clearly tells us not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. (Rom 12:2)
* The places I use to go I go there no more.*
* The things I use to do I do them no more*
* There is a great change in my life since I met Christ.*
These are the language of a purified passion. We’ll simply lose taste for certain things and places. If you still find it easy to do the ungodly things you did as an unbeliever, then you need to present your heart afresh to God to be purified.
In the name of Jesus I declare that my heart is purged from every dead works. My heart is purified by the blood of Jesus.

[7/24, 7:23 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: At your breaking point – turn to God
Friday 24th July 2020
‘Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart.’ Psalm 27:14 NKJV
David had reached his breaking point. ‘I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living’ (Psalm 27:13 NKJV). Can you identify? Have you reached your breaking point? If so, you have two options: break down or break through. It all depends on what you do. There’s an old saying, ‘The same sunshine that melts the butter hardens the clay.’ When trouble comes, you can either turn against God because you served him and don’t understand why he’s allowing it, or turn to him for strength and understanding. That’s why what David says next is so important: ‘Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart’ (Psalm 27:14 NKJV).
Sometimes God changes our circumstances; other times he uses them to strengthen us. Try to understand this. It’s not just about you, but those God wants to reach through you. ‘He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others’ (2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT).
Nothing catches God off guard, and nothing’s too hard for him to handle. The situation you’re in right now can become a platform for him to demonstrate his love and care for you. ‘The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore I will hope in him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on him’ (Lamentations 3:22-25 NLT).Share On:
