*Text: “David said, The Lord who delivered me out of the paw of the Lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go, and the Lord be with you.” 1 Sam 17:37 (Amplified)*

A testimony in our context today is a declaration or recognition of the acts of God in a situation or in a place. We can draw inspiration and motivation from the testimonies of others or from what God has done in our lives in the past. As David was going to face Goliath his greatest motivation was remembering how God helped him against the Lion and the bear. He was too sure that if God had done it before he can do it again. Even King Saul that was doubtful before was inspired by the testimony of David. He gave his approval for David to go on.

If you have a challenge listening to the testimony of others, you’ll have a problem having your own. Instead of doubting it believe God for your own. The wise will use the testimony of others to challenge God to do the same in their lives. If something has not happened to you is never a reason to discredit what happened to someone else. Learn to celebrate God for the testimony of others and you will soon have your own.
The scripture says “Rejoice with them that rejoice…” Rom 12:15.

Every testimony is a pointer to what God can do again. As Moses was going to face Pharaoh he was so fearful and full of doubts, God had to remind him that he was the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God was simply telling him “my help that was available for these individuals is still available for you.” (Exodus 3:6). If you listen carefully and watch closely behind every testimony is an underlying principle. God will always do the same thing for as many that will apply the same principle in their lives.

Lord thank you for every testimony I have ever experienced and heard. Thank you because you can do it again.

Pastor Chris

Tuesday, August 18th .

_*And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made (Genesis 2:2).*_

Read the creation story in the book of Genesis: After God saw that all He had created was very good, pleasant, and excellent in every way, He ceased from His work and rested on the seventh day. That seventh day would be man’s first day. When he awakened, he found that everything was ready. There was nothing left for man to do except to enjoy what had been created, take care of them, and appreciate his Creator. This was a shadow of the sabbath and rest for God’s people. You were born into His rest (Hebrews 4:9-10).

There’re people who perpetually live a life of struggle. They hardly ever accomplish a goal without a brawl with the devil. They’ve always had to fight their way through life, praying and fasting for days on end, and casting out all kinds of devils. This has been their experience from childhood to adulthood. They had to fight intense “spiritual battles” before they could gain admission into a university. When it was time to graduate, the conditions were just as difficult and they had to fight the same kind of battles. Getting a job after school was the same story. Finding a spouse and raising kids weren’t any different. Their lives have been an endless string of hardships and difficulties. Something is wrong.

If you’re born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, you ought to live a life of endless joy and rest, where you heap success upon success through the power of the Holy Spirit. But if you don’t understand how to appropriate and enjoy your divine inheritance in Christ, you’ll likely live “a life of ceaseless battles,” like the one we just described. Refuse that kind of life.

Embrace the stress-free life in Christ. He said in Matthew 11:28, _*“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”*_ You already came to Him at salvation and He’s already given you rest: _*“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his”*_ (Hebrews 4:10). This is the reality of your life.

The Lord Jesus didn’t whip the devil to leave us still “fighting” and struggling our way through life. His vicarious sacrifice in our behalf, and His work to give us the victory were complete. So, change your way of thinking where necessary and accept His Word today. Accept the life of joy, peace and glory that He’s given you.

*The Lord has made my life easy, glorious and exciting; I live a stress-free life in Christ. I’m in God’s rest; therefore, I enjoy a life of joy and peace with prosperity! Praise God.*

*||* *Matthew 11:28-30 CEV* If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. 29 Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. 30 This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light. *||*

*||* *Mark 11:23* For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. *||*

*||* *Hebrews 4:9-10* There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his. *||*

[8/18, 6:54 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Mathews 11:28

READ: John 21:1-6

1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.

2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Many Christians tell stories of their lives before they came to Christ, confessing of bondage to various gods, diabolical rituals, sexual immorality, gambling, alcohol, tobacco use, hard drugs and so on. As a result of this, many fell into diverse sins, sicknesses, demonic possession, fruitlessness, failure, bankruptcy and suicide. Job 14:1 says “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” I prophesy to anyone suffering from any of the above problems: God will show mercy and deliver you today in the mighty name of Jesus.

The Almighty God offers Jesus as a remedy to all problems of life for anyone who will accept Him as Lord and Savior. This is the essence of the declaration of Jesus in Matthew 11:28 & 30 that says:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest… For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

This is an open invitation to everyone laboring under the heavy yoke of the devil to move to the right side of life. Jesus says: come unto me and I will give you rest from all your troubles. Come to Jesus today for deliverance from the stronghold of sin, addiction and all forms of immorality. Come to Jesus and He will put an end to your miseries, disappointments and failures. Come to Jesus and He will turn your sorrows to joy.

Moving to the right side of life is yielding your life in totality to God. A lot of people today claim to be born again but after a close look at their live, it will become obvious that one sin or the other is still keeping them away from the Lord’s side.

Why don’t you surrender all to Jesus today? Repent of every sinful lifestyle, accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Embrace a life of holiness and from this moment, the abundant blessings of God will begin to pour into your life without measure in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, please help me to remain on Your side forever, in the mighty name of Jesus.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 24-25; 2 Chronicles 36.

1. I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

2. The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

3. Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

4. My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

5. Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.

[8/18, 6:54 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: *LIFE AND FAVOUR.*

*Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo,*
Lifeway Christian Centre,

Luke 6:38 KJV
*Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.*

The reason why many givers in the body of Christ are not blessed is because they are not expecting any return from their kingdom investment.

Your giving to God and humanity is an avenue for God’s blessing to flow into your life. Never allow any seed to leave your hand without expecting harvest from such an act of obedience. Everywhere scripture mentioned about giving (seed), it equally mentioned harvest. Doing one and not expecting another is an act of religion and prideful idea. It is the peak of ignorance.

Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV
*Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:*
*[10] So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.*

God offers abundance as a reason why we should sow seed. He gave us verse ten in the above scripture in order to motivate us to do verse nine which is sowing (giving). Beloved, remember God’s greatest expectation from His children is to be believed and His greatest pain is to be doubted. *”For without faith, it is impossible to please God”* Hebrews 11:6.

God always delights and takes pleasure in our act of faith and faith is simply acting on God’s word. Hear this again.

Genesis 8:22 KJV
*While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.*

Any where there is seed of faith, God is committed to supplying the harvest. Anytime you sow seed, be expecting God to respond favourably to your act of confidence in Him. Beloved, from today, begin to give in order to receive.

Psalms 5:3 (NLT) *Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.*

Let love motivate you and do not waver in your expectation. When you sow in expectation, your seed (giving) will stand before God as a testimony of your faith and confidence in Him and His promises.

Remember, you are not giving to help God but to be blessed. Give in expectation for that is the kingdom mystery that will make your seed to work for you. Beloved, it is not evil to sow for harvest, it is an offer your heavenly Father gave you, do not let religion and opinion of men take it away from you.

> Thank you my Lord for the gift of life and another beautiful day you have made.

> Thank you my Lord for your mercies and loving kindness towards me and my household.

> Thank you my Father for protecting us against the will of our enemies.

1. Isaiah 55:10 KJV
*…that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:*

Thank you my Father for beautifully supplying us seed to sow and bread to eat in the mighty name of Jesus!

2. Romans 10:2 KJV
*For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.*

O Lord my God, I repent of every act of religion that does not have bearing with your word in the mighty name of Jesus!

3. Isaiah 30:23 KJV
*Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.*

O Lord my God, release rain upon my seed sown into your kingdom and humanity and cause it to bring forth uncommon harvest in the mighty name of Jesus!

4. Zechariah 8:12 KJV
*For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things .*

O Lord my Father, cause my seed sown to begin to give an hundred fold harvest in the mighty name of Jesus!

5. Nehemiah 13:31 KJV
*And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.*

O Lord my Father, remember all my seed to your kingdom, servants and humanity in the mighty name of Jesus!

6. Psalm 20:3 KJV
*Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.*

O Lord my God, let all my sacrifices come before you as a sweet savour and be acceptable in the mighty name of Jesus!

7. Jeremiah 4:3 KJV
*For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.*

O Lord my God, grant me sensitivity not to sow among thorns but on a fertile ground in the mighty name of Jesus!

8. 2 Chronicles 15:7 KJV
*Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.*

O Lord my God, arise and release my reward for all my seed and labour of love in your kingdom in the mighty name of Jesus!

9. Malachi 3:10 KJV
*Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it .*

O Lord my God, remember my obedience to your covenant of tithing and open the flood gates of heaven in my favour in the mighty name of Jesus!

Thank you Father for working exceedingly and abundantly above all that I ask or think.

Receive my thanks and praise in the mighty name of Jesus!

See you tomorrow.
*Rejoice evermore.*
*Pray without ceasing.*

[8/18, 6:54 AM] Pastor Emmanuel Oshevire: Overcoming rejection (1)

Tuesday 18th August 2020

‘You are precious and honoured in my sight.’ Isaiah 43:4 NIV

Jesus experienced rejection: ‘He came to his own, and his own did not receive him’ (John 1:11 NKJV). But he didn’t sit around and lick his wounds; he moved on to where people gladly received him. And he told his disciples, ‘Whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet’ (Matthew 10:14 NKJV).

Repeated rejection tends to validate the fear that we are inadequate. This is particularly so when it comes to the opinions of those we place value on. But the irony in operating out of the fear of rejection is that it ultimately results in the very rejection you were trying to avoid. When people realise you hold yourself in low regard, they deal with you accordingly. You teach people how to value you by how much you value yourself. If you never express a preference, a boundary, or any other limitation on how others interact with you, they will assume you have none, and behave towards you in that manner. Notice, even though Jesus was rejected he never responded in a way that encouraged continued rejection. He didn’t stay where he was tolerated; he went to where he was celebrated. In other words, he went to where people recognised and received his person, his purpose and his power.

Jesus had God’s full acceptance; therefore, he did not fear man’s rejection. And you have God’s full acceptance too. ‘You are precious and honoured in my sight, and…I love you’ (Isaiah 43:4 NIV). The first step to overcoming rejection is to keep God’s opinion of you in your mind, at all times.
