SCRIPTURE: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,”marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark. Matthew 24″:38

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Despite what people do,”the standard of God remains sure.

Life on earth is compared to a pilgrim’s journey. We are not of this world, we are only passing through the world into eternity; we cannot be in this world forever. And every passing day brings eternity much closer to us than ever. The truth is that we are in the end time.

Yesterday we looked at deficiency of passion for God as one of the signs of the end time. Today, we are looking at two other signs of the end time.

1. Abundance of unbelief (Luke 18″:8b)

We are in the season where many people do not believe the scripture; they do not believe that a good God can create a terrible hell. There are preachers who preach that God will not send anyone to hell; they say that hell is an out-dated theology but they forgot Sodom and Gomorrah and the days of Noah. Many people do not believe that the end is near. It is also a sign of the end!

2. Existence for pleasure

We are in a season where many people exist just for fleshly pleasure; the flesh has become the god of many people. The devil has given many people abundance of flesh-satisfying agenda; we see the homosexuals,”lesbians, and people spending hours on internet games, video games, Facebook, twitter, YouTube etc. Most young ladies are prostituting not necessarily because they love living as prostitutes but because they want to look ‘beautiful’ like others – wear flashy and expensive dresses and gold jewelleries, drive the latest cars, and move about with all forms of vanities.

Beloved, the fact that almost everyone is doing the wrong thing does not make it right. Despite what people do, the standard of God remains sure. In times like these, we must trust God for His grace to stand and consciously put the flesh to subjection.

Remember this”: Despite what people do,”the standard of God remains sure.

1. Refuse to live a life that is controlled by the flesh.

2. Refuse  to listen to those who preach or believe that once you are saved,”you are saved even if you continue to live in sin.

PRAYER: O Lord,”give me the grace to stand uprightly in this degenerating world. Let my satisfaction be in You and not in what the world gives, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

[9/25, 6:41 AM] 919063: Leadership pressures

Wednesday 25th September 2019

‘I have the constant worry of…the churches.’ 2 Corinthians 11:28 TLB

Preachers prepare sermons, teachers plan lessons, accountants crunch numbers and mechanics fix engines. But there’s no institution of higher learning that can fully prepare you for the pressures of leadership. That only comes through on-the-job training. Paul lists the pressures of leadership along with being whipped, beaten, stoned, betrayed and shipwrecked. It’s one of the reasons why more than 21 per cent of pastors say they wouldn’t go into ministry if they had their time over.

As author Zig Ziglar said, ‘It’s lonely at the top.’ If you’re a leader in any area of life – and most of us are whether we realise it or not – the buck not only stops at your door, but you can’t move it with a bulldozer. As a leader you will hear little when things go according to plan, but when they don’t go well, watch out. Leaders draw criticism as surely as a picnic draws flies. Influencing others always comes at a price. A leader will pay the cost in time, thought and trust. The instalments look like daily risk taking, visionary thinking, diligent working and problem solving. But the biggest cost is dealing with people, especially those who may wear the same uniform but aren’t on the same team. Paul refers to it this way: ‘In danger from false brothers’ (2 Corinthians 11:26 NIV).

If you’re experiencing leadership issues today, here’s what God said to Moses: ‘Stand near me…As my glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with my hand’ (Exodus 33:21-22 NLT). What’s the answer to the pressures of leadership? A consciousness of God’s presence in your life.

[9/25, 6:41 AM] 919063: WISDOM FOR THE DAY
Wednesday, 25th September, 2019

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry”.
Psalm 40:1 KJV
In Exodus 32, we read of the encounter the children of Israel had, in the wilderness when Moses went up to the mountain to receive the commandments from the Lord. As far as the children of Israel were concerned, Moses was taking too long on the mountain, so they decided to take their destinies in their own hands. They chose a shortcut because they felt they had been abandoned and forsaken. They could not explain why God who spoke through the cloud would take so long in giving the commandments. So they went to Aaron to give them an alternative and he gave them the golden calf.
Before you blame the children of Israel for being impatient; have you thought of how many times you have sought alternatives for yourself? Can you remember how many times you thought God’s timing was not right? Can you remember how many times you thought God was too slow for your liking? Does that not sound like the story of the children of Israel? In their panic, they said to Aaron in Exodus 32:1 ”…Up, make us gods which shall go before us; for as for this Moses the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.” Their impatience and lack of trust led to the making of the golden calf.
Don’t forget that these were the same people that God brought out of Egypt by signs and wonders. Just because there was a temporary delay, they resorted to an alternative. When Moses came down from the mount and saw the evil the children of Israel had committed, in Exodus 32:20 ”he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire and ground it to powder and strawed it upon the water and made the children of Israel to drink of it.” Beloved, the very thing they worshipped was what Moses gave them to drink. That was like poison. They had compromised their faith and they paid for it. That will not be your portion in Jesus’ name. The grace to wait on the Lord is resting upon you.
