Sunday 7th July 2019

‘Serve the Lord with gladness.’ Psalm 100:2 NKJV

To grow in your relationship with God, you must move from the ‘should’ to the ‘want to’ category. The most basic assessment we have for any experience or event is what psychologist Jonathan Haidt calls our ‘like-o-metre’. Your like-o-metre was running the day you were born. For example, taste receptors in babies are pretty well developed, so their like-o-metre usually involves what goes into their mouths: ‘I like it – gotta have more,’ or ‘I hate it – get it out of here.’ As you continue to grow, everything in life registers on your like-o-metre without your even having to think about it. Every sound you hear, every conversation you’re part of, every bite you eat, rates positively or negatively on your scale. And people also register on your like-o-metre. During the briefest conversations you’ll find yourself drawn towards certain people. Something within you says, ‘I like this person. I’m enjoying this conversation.’ The like-o-metre is always on.

So here’s a question to consider: do you like God? That may sound like a strange question, but if you don’t like spending time with him, you won’t do it. And you need to be honest, because you can’t pull the wool over God’s eyes. In Scripture the Christian life is compared to a forty-two kilometre marathon. At the forty kilometre mark it doesn’t matter whether youthink you should finish, you’ll only do it because you want to. In other words, your ‘want-to’ keeps you going when your ‘should’ finds it easier to quit.

The psalmist said, ‘Serve the Lord withgladness’ because nothing else will enable you

*God’s Promise of Healing and Whaleness*

_Exodus 23:25 (NKJV, CEV) Deuteronom 7:14-15 (CEV)_
_”…. you shall serve the Lord your God, and. He will bless our bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. *Worship only me, the LORD your God! I will bless you with plenty of food and water and keep you strong. *God will bless you more than any other nation – your families will grow and your livestock increase. You Wlll no longer. suffer with the same horrible diseases that you sometimes had in Egypt. You Will be healthy._

God wants you to be healthy and He has promised to keep you healthy. As a child of God, you have a right to the healing power of God which Jesus has made available to you. Listen, you are no more like that woman who desperately pled with Jesus to heal her daughter and to whom Jesus informed that it is not good to take the bread that belongs to the children and give it to dogs, Matthew 15:21-28. Because of the death of Jesus for you, you are now like the woman that Jesus saw in the temple and healed from an eighteen year infirmity, even without her asking Him. When questioned about healing on the Sabbath day, Jesus’ response was that she was entitled to healing because she is a daughter of Abraham and as such, she ought to be healed, Luke 13:10-17. In the Good News Bible, Galatians 3:29 says, “If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.” Halleluiah! Receive God’s promise of your heanng. ‘

By the stripes of Jesus, you have been healed, 1 Pet. 2:24. So, receive your healing now in JesusI name! As Jesus bore your sin on the cross, He also took your sickness away. You shall remain strong and healthy. The Lord will keep satisfying your mouth with good things and your youth will continually be renewed like that of the eagles, Psa. 103:5. Keep declaring God’s promise in our texts above and keep declaring what Christ has done for you. Also grow in wisdom, knowledge and in the practice of taking care of your health. Exercise your body, eat healthy and get sufficient rest.

Confession:
My bread and water are blessed! God has taken sickness away from me. By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed

[7/7, 7:57 AM] 919063: Today’s SOD – 2019-07-07
TOPIC: FROM REVELATION TO THE BLESSING

SCRIPTURE: Jesus answered and said unto him,”Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona”: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee,”but my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16″:17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What is not revealed cannot be desired.

Yesterday,”we saw that the Word of God reveals our inheritance in God. And when our inheritance is revealed, our possession is guaranteed.

Today, we are going to see how the revelation of the Word brings the blessing”:

1. Every revelation is pregnant with the blessing

The moment a revelation opens up,”the blessing is released. As Peter saw the revelation of who Jesus is, the word, ‘Blessed art thou…’ was released on him, and the blessing came upon him immediately (Mathew 16″:17). So,”anytime you see something new out of scripture, you have accessed a dimension of blessing you never had before.

2. Revelation opens your eyes to what is yours

Until your inheritance in God is revealed to you, you cannot understand that it is yours. The truth is, what is not revealed cannot be desired. What is not comprehended cannot be apprehended.

3. Revelation gives birth to the faith that receives When you see a revelation from the Scripture, there would be a knowing, a conviction that what you saw is yours (Romans 10″:17).

4. Revelation equips your spirit with might and power to take what is yours.

The energy and power to rise is injected into you when light comes upon you (Ecclesiastes 8:4). A revelation can turn a timid person into a lion; the more revelation you have,”the more brutal, rugged, aggressive, forceful and fight-full you become in the spirit against the devil.

Go for the revelation of God’s Word in order to access the benefits of the Word.

Remember this”: What is not revealed cannot be desired.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Write down all the revelations you receive while studying God’s Word.

2. Review the revelation consistently for refuelling by the fire and power that accompany the revelation.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING,”GET THIS MESSAGE”: BLESSED BY THE WORD

PRAYER: Father,”I connect with the power in Your Word in order to take possession of what is mine, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING”: 1 Chronicles 4:5 to 5:17,”Acts 25″:1 to 27,”Psalm 5″:1 to 12,”Proverbs 18″:19

QUOTE: The more revelation you get from the Word,”the more rest you have. Culled from RIDING THE STORM OF LIFE by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT”:  James Buchanan,”the 15th U.S. president continuously bought slaves with his own money in order to free them.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD”: A new dimension is around the corner for you in this season as you access light from the word in Jesus’ Name.

*THEME: ASK, ASK & ASK AGAIN.*

*MEMORISE:*
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:24

*Bible Reading: Matthew 7:7-11*
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

*MESSAGE*
Towards the end of His early ministry, Jesus called His disciples aside and said to them in John 16:24:

“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

I believe the disciples were shocked to hear Him say this, because they must surely have been praying. What the Lord was actually saying to them was that they had not been asking rightly. This is the case with many children of God today. When we think we are praying, we are actually complaining, and some of us are even weary in prayer, contrary to the Lord’s teaching in Luke chapter 18. There is a difference between prayer and complaining. Some of us even accuse God in our prayers! We issue Him queries and present a long list of our good works that should compel Him to do our bidding. This should not be so. Let us learn from the experience of the children of Israel in the wilderness. The Lord said to them in Numbers 14:27-28:

“How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:”
When we ask God to do something that does not align with His will, He does not consider that to be a prayer. We cannot coerce or manipulate Him into doing things that are against His integrity and honor. If you overhear some people’s prayers, you will be amazed. Some pray that God should kill their “troublesome” spouses so that they can be free to marry someone else! This is not prayer; it is witchcraft! Praying contrary to the will of God is nothing but lusting after ungodliness. If you are under distress due to the wickedness of fellow human beings, it is enough to ask God for deliverance from all enemies; He know what to do to deliver you. Today, I want you to pray like you have never prayed before, asking God to accomplish His will concerning whatever situation you are currently in. ask Him to provide for you, but don’t tell Him how. Tell hi, to promote you but don’t tell Him how. Ask for your long awaited spouse but don’t prescribe for Him. God will answer your prayers today in Jesus’ Name.

*PRAYER POINT:*
Father, as I present my petitions today, let Your Holy Spirit help me to ask according to Your will, in Jesus’ Name.

Ezekiel 12:21-13:7

*HYMN 8: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE*
My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed sodied
