Morning Devotions

[10/13, 6:09 AM] 919063: Today’s SOD – 2019-10-13

SCRIPTURE: So teach us to number our days,”that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. PSALMS 90″:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Life is not a rehearsal; it is reality. Do it now,”delay means decay.

Today, our study would be in the form of a question”: ‘Is today tomorrow?’

Sometime ago,”one of my children met me and made a request which I promised to attend to the next day. In my words, I told him, meet me tomorrow to get what you requested for. So, the following day he met me and asked, ‘Daddy, is today tomorrow?’ That is, the tomorrow you talked about, is it today? Are we in the tomorrow you promised to attend to my request?

After that scenario, as I thought within myself, I realized that time draws closer to us each day that passes; tomorrow will soon become today; today will soon become yesterday; yesterday will soon become bygone days, and bygone days soon become history.

The truth is, the finish line draws closer to us every day that passes; seconds soon become minutes; minutes soon become hours; hours soon become days; days soon become years; and years soon become lifetime.

Beloved, the bitter truth is that every human being on earth is closer to his/her grave today than yesterday. Do not waste your life thinking you have all the time in the world. The life you are living now is not a rehearsal, it is reality. Time is constantly in motion, so you have to keep moving. Please, those great visions you have planned to achieve in future, do them now because delay means decay. The future you have been waiting for is now!

REMEMBER THIS”: Life is not a rehearsal; it is reality. Do it now because delay means decay.

1. Take each day as if it is the last because one day it shall be the last.

2. Approach life with urgency because you don’t have eternity to fulfill destiny.

3. Never waste your time nor allow anyone to waste it for you.

PRAYER: O Lord,”help me to live the life I was meant to live. I receive the impartation for urgency and the grace to fulfill my destiny on time, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE”: When you lose money you can make it back,”when you lose your car you can buy another one but when you lose time it is lost forever. The wastage of time is the wastage of life. Culled from 365 Wisdom Capsules by Dr Paul Enenche

[10/13, 6:09 AM] 919063: The power of your testimony

Sunday 13th October 2019

‘Go…tell them how much the Lord has done for you.’ Mark 5:19 NIV

The most powerful testimony of all – is a life that can’t be explained without including God! People may dispute your theology, but your testimony, that’s something else! Six different times Paul stood before hostile audiences, and each time he gave his personal testimony. No arguing, no debating – just his story. Dr David Yonggi Cho built the world’s largest church in South Korea (one million members). He was won to Christ by a lady he met only once. She shared her testimony, moved on, and Cho, a former Buddhist, never found her again.

Your testimony is an awesome thing, especially when it’s backed by a consistent lifestyle. People who won’t listen to others will listen to you, relate to you and respond to you if you’ll share your story. And when you do, keep in mind four things: (1) Be interesting. Give them the short version and avoid clichés. Jesus is exciting; He came to bring ‘[life] more abundantly’ (John 10:10 NKJV). (2) Be specific. Talk about: (a) how it used to be; (b) how you met Jesus; (c) how it is now. (3) Be honest. Don’t say, ‘All your problems will disappear when you become a Christian.’ The Christian life is a battlefield, not a playing field. Let people know you still have struggles but something important has changed – you’re no longer alone: ‘He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world’ (1 John 4:4 NKJV). (4) Be warm. Don’t try to arm-wrestle them into the Kingdom. Be gracious, sow the seed and leave the harvest to God.

Now, ‘Go…tell them how much the Lord has done for you’ (Mark 5:19 NIV).

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6

READ: Genesis 26: 12-14
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Seeds are a small part of the fruit produced by a plant from which new plants spring forth when planted. The power inherent in a seed is the ability to reproduce. Therefore, the more seeds one sows, the greater the harvest of seed one will obtain, which is why 2 Corinthians 9:6 says:

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”
Isaac’s experience in today’s Bible reading teaches us the reward of sowing seeds. After the Lord commanded him not to go down to Egypt in search of “greener pasture”, he settled in Gerar in spite of the famine raging there and got to work sowing seeds. Beloved, every work you do in line with God’s word will be blessed by Him. On the hand if you do nothing, God will bless nothing! This is a steadfast divine principle. Every time God performed miracles of multiplication in the Bible, there was always something for Him to bless (Matthew 14:14-21, Matthew 15:32-38, 1 Kings 17:9-152 Kings 14:1-6, 2 Kings 4:42-44). The good news is that everyone always has something at his or her disposal that can serve as a springboard into the realm of supernatural multiplication. Before feeding the five thousand through the miracle of multiplication, our Lord Jesus Christ asked the disciples, “How many loaves have ye? Go and see.” After verifying, they told him that they had five loaves and two fishes. One can imagine Jesus saying, “That’s more than enough!” He blessed the loaves and after more than five thousand people had eaten from them, they had twelve baskets of fragments as leftovers! The seed in this miracle are the five loaves of bread and two fish. Likewise, the widow of Zarephath had a seed of only a little flour and oil in a cruse, but when God blessed her seed, it became a bumper harvest of cakes for three and half years. A similar thing happened to the widow of a man from the company of prophets. She ran to Elisha concerning the debt left behind by her husband. In response to her cry for help, Elisha said to her in 2 Kings 4:2a:
“……..What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? ”

The widow replied that she had nothing at all except a little oil. Little did she know that what she had was enough seed to get her out of poverty, beloved, find out what God has deposited in you as a seed that He can use to perform the miracle you need. After you have discovered the seed, be ready to surrender it because there is power in that seed if only you can sow it (John 12:24). Unless your seed leaves your hand, you cannot unleash its power to bless you. So, release that seed today and you will witness its power in bringing blessings to your life.

Father, open my eyes to identify the seed You have deposited in me for my desired miracle of multiplication, and help me to sow and not eat it.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicle 1-4
Revelation 8:1-12

1. Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
*Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.
